[Archived] BBC Radio Lancashire this Wednesday

Recommended Posts

Hello all

Andy Bayes here. Just to let you all know Paul Hunt and Paul Agnew will be in the studio at BBC Radio Lancashire this coming Wednesday night (14 March).

If you have a question to put to them you can email me at andy.bayes@bbc.co.uk with your phone number and we'll call you back on the night. Probably best not to give me your number over twitter!

Remember this is Paul Hunt & Paul Agnew, if you have a question specifically for Mrs Desai or one of the Rao family they won't be attending. Hopefully you'll get some questions answered. If you live outside the Lancashire area you can listen on-line at www.bbc.co.uk/lancashire and click listen again on the right hand side of the screen.

The number on the evening to call is 01254 583 583.

Cheers

Good luck at Wolves everyone.

Hi Andy, sorry, this isn't aimed at you at all.

An evening with a complete nobody with absolutely zero power and Keans Press Officer. I know, I know, but perception can be a terrible thing.

I think I'd rather chew my right arm off than listen to their platitudes and bull. Judging by the lack of responses to this thread I'm not alone either.

The people we need to speak to don't speak to anyone. The rest are just compliant to their plan. Which, clearly, involves bringing the club to its knees and taking what they can from it before putting us into Administration.

Andy, will you be asking them about Season Ticket sales for next season?

Why Kean is still in a job when he is clearly a liar, a terrible manager, the most unpopular manager we have ever had and completely divisive?

Will you be asking why Venkys have cleared out all experienced Pros, numerous staff, slashed the wage bill, sold Samba when they told us they had made a stand, and reneged on their promise of investing £5m per transfer window?

Will you also ask these two what they have told Venkys about the strength of feeling of the fan base against them? I don't know of a single fan who doesnt want tem to sell.

Will you ask Mr Hunt and Mr Agnew about Mr Andersons performance on Sky Sports News and their thoughts? Could you ask why the club failed to see the need to respond?

Could you ask why they think Venkys don't attend any games or speak or show any signs of interest in BRFC anymore? Because the perception (oh no, there's that word again) from where I'm sitting is that no one in a position of "power" (in Pune, or at Ewood) actually gives a damn.

I'd ask them myself but quite frankly, as I mentioned earlier, I'm sick of all the endless bull.

The best way to get through is to tell Radio Lancashire that your a fan of Keans and your feeling so sorry for him having so many jobs lol.

As soon as your through ask the puppets about agents fees, who actually picks the team and is it picked on merit or cheapness.

Could also ask them if they will carry on with the searching of women and children at Ewood Park.

lol

Why would anyone be interested in your opinions?

Who is your boss?

Do you have any self-respect?

As DEPUTY CEO do you ever have the urge to rub out the DEPUTY?

Do you like taking risks?

What is your proudest moment or achievement in life?

What is your proudest moment or achievement with BRFC?

Are you worth your salary?

Who judges you? Owners, players or support er custo, er employe err serfs?

What caste are you?

If you are thinking of posting a response to this, please remember than ginger is not a caste but simply an affliction in the eyes of some weirdo people. Give generously!

Forgot something for Mr. Agnew ...

How's your Stevie getting on? Crickey them were the days eh? Dalglish and Harford and pure joyous optimism!

It's a pity that the people in charge now don't have the same vision but what advice do you think your Steve would give to the powers (ROFLMAO LOL :-{ OMG) that be down at ewood?

PS. always loved it down at plessy! training was great every day 'cept the morning preparations. Our modern day stevo would have been a natural! Magnetic some would say. Thankfully he now has the village to keep clean and tidy.

1) It's highly unlikely that the important questions will be asked.

2) Any important questions will be batted away, spun or met with a charm offensive.

However, some thoughts...

- A meeting was planned between the club and protest organisers prior to the Villa game. This was allegedly called off after the terms of the meeting were changed. What did you wish to say off the record that couldn't be shared with the fans?

- When are you going to insist that John Newsham apologises for humiliating the Darwen End fans and frightening their children, by subjecting them to body searches with no prior warning? The longer you leave it, the less sincere it will be.

- It is alleged that there was a "plot" to remove Steve Kean due to results and his endless press comments making his position untenable. This culminated in unprecedented scenes of discontent at Ewood Park during and after the Bolton game. How do you feel as a board member being described in the national press as a plotter? And if, as is also alleged, a confidential email recommending his removal was forwarded to Kean himself, why did the board not walk out en masse?

- It has been the company line at Blackburn Rovers that Venkys care deeply about the club and want the club to be successful. How do you therefore explain:

: The removal of all of the clubs experienced players - including team and club captains in the last 6 weeks (with Kean then publically bemoaning the lack of experience)

: The continued downgrading of our targets for league position due to our rapid decline

: The apparent lack of transfer funds from the owners in the last three windows resulting in the very poor squad we have today

: Despite two relegation battled in two seasons, unwanted record after unwanted record, the decision to continually back Kean (demonstrated by him still being in charge) rather than bring inan experienced manager

And what are Venkys going to do about it?

- Kean often points to his "supporters" (or sympathisers) as being able to "see what we are trying to do here". For those less sympathetic about Kean and the fall from grace of our club, what is he/you trying to do here?

- Last Summer, after orchestrating our very near relegation from being comfortably midtable, most fans expected Kean to be quietly "thanked" and replaced, yet he apparently received a new, improved contract. Why was this and will Kean receive a pay rise, extension or other improvements to his contract if we stay up again this season?

- Why will Venkys apparently not talk to potential buyers?

- There are rumour circulating about financial problems at Rovers of Rangers-style proportions; that players wages were in doubt prior to the sale of Chris Samba; that players are made available on a weekly basis due to players' contractual payments; Salgado is fit and experienced yet cannot play for contractual reasons, the same was said about Roberts; Kean is talking about bringing in a long out of date Bolo Zenden, who hasn't played competitive football for a year, to shore up our relegation fight, yet we have Simon Vuckevic on the bench every game.

Just what on earth is going on?

- Which do you care most about Blackburn Rovers Football Club, your own personal pride/reputation, or Venkys money?

Some great questions above that really cut to the heart of the issue. Very little chance of them being asked though, and even if they are zero chance of them being answered. PH/PA would never in a million years agree to do a radio interview where they could have some of these questions thrown at them.

Thanks for putting this together Andy but I'm just expecting bullshit and bland blathering from these two.

Unfortunately I completely agree.

A pointless exercise unless the real issues are going to be brought up. Even if they are not answered or answered with spin at least the points will get put forward in public. Instead it will just be another attempt at painting a rosey picture to the outside world again

I will reserve judgement until after the event. We all crave information and many posters are very vocal in their condemnation of the club representatives not communicating. Yet, here is the one thing that has been absent for so long and the majority are writing it off.

I agree that it is highly likely to be a PR exercise and many of the genuine questions we want answers to will be avoided, but, I will give it the benefit of the doubt until I've heard it.

Does anyone else think that it's more than a coincidence, that they pulled out of the talks with the peoples front of Judea before the Villa game, and now this comes along?

I would be delighted to stand corrected on my cynicism but i think this will be just a PR exercise on the back of probably free coaches to Wolves, Youth cup final and Sunderland tckt offer and maybe a good result this weekend. After all why is Mr Agnew there, just what has he got to do with running the club other than (crap) PR lol

Sorry Andy but thisis pointless since the important questions won't be asked and even if someone grew a pair to ask the big question these idiots can't/won't answer.

The local press should be ashamed to let this mess go with little or no fuss.

The club is ruined and in my opinion the press have a share of the blame.

Quite correct there eire.

I wrote a lengthy letter to a journalist awhile ago expressing my opinion that they should all just kill themselves, as now they serve no real purpose anymore - they are but parasites on the back of a laboring and quickly expiring circus of imbeciles.

Everything that they write is what has been released to them, there is no quest for the truth or a desire to improve the world through rhetoric, reason, and the exposure of the deeds of the evil. Instead we find out who is the latest unleashed proud gay man, or which over-paid clown is getting married to another overpaid clown, how to manicure your poodle and how to lose inches off your waist by doing arm curls with your multi-system remote. They get a release, change the arrangement of the words and print it. They then expect you to read your cake and their expectations are typically matched by our thoughtless, complacent, consumption of their verbiage.

There was a day when the press did what it was supposed to do, actually working for the betterment of the many and not the enrichment of the few. There was a day when the pen was mightier than the sword; now the pen is made in China, bought by the person the story is written about, and the sword is illegal and ohhh so sharp and dangerous.

The truth is out there Mulder, you just have to know where to look. have the balls to look.
