Probably another thread somewhere , not looked really, but what Apps (phone / tablet) do people use / recommend (either android or iphone)?

Ill start off

If you are into art/drawing - Layer paint is great as an easy to get into programme, files can be saved as psd format (photoshop) and edited in that later or converted to vector in Ai.

For photography Pro HDR camera , works really well at faux hdr imaging

Tunein radio - grabs radio stations from around the world , great for listening to radio lancs and talksport occasionally , also lots of specialist channels for every kind of music , if you have a particular taste for 76-79 punk and new wave - punkfm is worth searching for.

Games apps

Never been a big action footy game player (apart from Sensible soccer / Kick off on the Amiga) but got fifa 14 and quite impressed with it (android version) on Galaxy note 10.1. Def an improvement over fifa 12 and a reasonable price

The Room , puzzle game is good , shortish but passes the time

Sure there's more that I use quite often but its a start

I have Tunein, very good app. I got my latest iphone on EE and any contract above £41 per month gets you a free subscription to deezer which is excellent. If I didn't get it for free then I would pay for it. It's similar to spotify and you can save tracks/albums to your device for playing offline.

Discovr also recommended for music lovers.

Anyone got bunnymovie?

For iphone my fave app is Flipboard. great news app that you can customise to basically form your own newspaper.

Also LiveScore for live footie scores. Tried loads of apps for live scores but always find them useless when in ewood or other stadiums. The congestion of phones in use on the nearby mast means they never load. For some reason live scores always loads instantly

XE Currency is good, Livescore is very good as well. I must admit the android equivalent of the Sky Sports News Score Centre is nowhere near as good.

Harder to look at tables/results, and not as concise as the iPhone one, with all the line-ups etc in one place.

I'm sure I read about some kind of add-on (might be laptop rather than mobile) where you can select certain sites to open on certain browsers? Say, BRFCS opens on chrome, but Facebook on Firefox.

Am I talking out my arse or does anyone know what I'm referring to? Just because Facebook keeps freezing on Chrome :/

At a glance Mike is asking to open a website in a specific browser and CTR is discussing opening a link in a specific browser. Two different functions I think.

CTR you're right without an app it isn't possible to chose or change the default browser from Safari or the default of an app. I don't understand the issue though, link

opens in browser. It worked. I've no idea how Android allows one to chose a specific browser for a specific link but I can't imagine it's much faster than copy link, paste in chosen browser, open link?

Mike I feel you are asking a different question and want to use different browsers for different websites? Easy. Download the browser you want to use for a specific site, bookmark site and when you want to go to that site open the specific browser. As far as I know this is the same as would happen on a laptop.

If Facebook is an issue have you tried the app?

Thank you for the answer but I'm certain there is some sort of proxy/website/app where you can open different sites on different browsers in the same window (as tabs, if you like). So that you can access sites with the browser that provides the best speed.

I know I could just open firefox and chrome but it's be fiddly trying to remember which window to open.

This is on laptop btw :)
