[Archived] Charlton vs Rovers 26th April 3pm

Recommended Posts

Right into the tail end of the season now and our third game in a row against a team fighting relegation whilst we very optimistically continue to push for promotion.

They've been on a very up and down run of form lately, losing at home to Barnsley and Reading, but beating Wednesday away 3-2 last weekend. I don't know how to call this one, with our recent run of stability a draw wouldn't surprise me, but this is one we should definitely be winning. If we do, and results go our way, we could go into the last game of the season with a chance of the playoffs.

Another match nice and close to me, and I reckon we'll have 6 or 700 at the game, although I do wonder how many would be making the trip down if we had beaten Yeovil.

4-2 Rovers (Gestede with another hatrick and Rhodes)

I'll be there! Flying over from Sweden with my brother and a friend. It will be my first ever Rovers game. And my first Enligsh game since I watch QPR vs Nottingham Forrest at Loftus Road in 1995.

Let's hope for a great game!

Good luck, hope you have a great time !

Be careful with your phones and wallets, a lot of dodgy people in the capital.

Crikey! I live near Liverpool - the only Titan Prison that hasn't got a wall round it!

I think we'll win this so that the club can spin the line that our 'exciting season' went 'down to the wire', with 'a young team' who can 'push on next season'.

And before the final pixel has illuminated it's black Times New Roman glow on the marketing copy material...

...Reading will score an injury time winner and that will be that, with the copy editor strategical squeezing in a few 'almost's in mid-sentence.

Obviously conceding an injury time Charlton equaliser is more realistic but I'm trying to be 'romantic'. :rover:

What's there to spin? That's exactly my belief, if we're using a top 10 finish this season after nearly being relegated last.

2-0 win with a Rhodes double and with other teams slipping up again

We'll also beat Wigan and end up a point or two shy of 6ths IMO

I'll go for à 3-0 win so we might get that crappy play off

You might want to have a word with Reading then, ask them nicely. I'm sure if we did get to the play offs you'd end up feeling 'glad all over' anyway :)

When I think of Charlton, I think of Clive Mendonca. Works on an oil-rig now, apparently.

Feel sorry for players like that who just missed the million pound contracts handed out to any old cloggers. All about timing.
