  1. A shame really considering his ability. If only his motivation matched his greed he could have been fantastic at last years WC
  2. Personally, I believe he could do a job for the Rovers for the next season or two even if he is a nasty peice of work.
  3. I think (and I really are not sure) that it dates back to medievil times and was used to insult the French. You see if an English archer was caught by the French he would have his fingers lopped of so he couldnt use a bow and arrow. So by flicking the V's its a funny way of saying heres my fingers. Edit - Oh yeah almost forgot. Ferguson is @#/?.
  4. This could have been a momentous week for the PS3: Resident Evil 5 - Looks decent (cut scenes are a bit ropey) but for me the new inventory system and healing partners etc just lets it down. It doesnt feel like a Resident Evil game to be honest. Killzone - How Ive yearned for this game to blast the XBOX 360. Dont believe the hype. The demo has left an empty feeling in my soul and has seriously made me question (for the first time) if buying a PS3 was worth it. Graphics are decent but not eye poppingly brilliant (MGS 4's were better), gameplay seems rather sluggish and one dimensional. Just hope that a decent multiplayer can make up for an average campaign FPS. Perhaps I just expected more? Both of the next generation Call of Duty titles are better IMO. Its decent but it is not going to be the pinnacle of any gamers life 8/10 Bring on Street Fighter 4.
  5. Brought Tomb Raider on PS3 this week for £25 from Game. Decent enough game although the camera lets it down in some instances. The offer is on until the 10th December is anyone is interested.
  6. I see what you mean. The current (PS3) games I liked/play on: Uncharted FIFA 09 CoD WaW Metal Gear Solid 4 Colin Mcrae Dirt Wipeout HD Tiger Woods Soul Calibur I'm looking forward to: Killzone 2 Tom Clancy's HAWX M.A.G Tekken The new Gran Turismo (just hope it improves on Prologue) Resident Evil 5 Uncharted 2 A football management game, like LMA
  7. I can see why fans of the RPG genre have positive things to say of Fallout 3, but I still think its terrible. I had it on the PS3 (don't know if it's any different on the XBox 360?) and I didn't like: 1 - The graphics - a major let down for me here - everything had very 'rough edges' I'm very into my home entertainment so I know that it is not my TV letting me down. 2 - The sound - I kept experiencing 'blips' in the sound quality throughout the three hours of it I played. 3 - The combat system was very weak IMO (TBH from what I saw I was expecting more of a FPS style combat stystem). 4 - The 'interaction/acting' with other inhabitants was extremley scripted. 5 - Everytime a freind signed into PSN the game would 'crash' for around 20 seconds. This was very annoying. If you're into RPG's then it is probably a very good game for you. I should have learnt my lesson from Oblivion as I hated that. Just my two pence worth, but whilst we are on the subjects of games letting you down, in no particular order here are mine: Fallout 3 GTA 4 Unreal Tournament Little Big Planet (loved it at first, haven't played on it for weeks) Pro Evo 08+09 GT5 Prologue Haze Mercenaries 2 Far Cry 2 Assasins Creed Oblivion Motorstorm It souns like I hate my PS3, but I don't honest!
  8. I do. I didn't get to finish it because it bored me to tears. Liked the graphics, story, combat, sense of freedom but the repetetive nature finished it for me. Yet another massivley overhyped game that was dissapointment (I'm looking at you aswell GTA4 and Fallout!)
  9. So, I picked up Call of Duty World at War (PS3) this morning, my veiw so far: When it was first announced that the series was going back to WW2 I was sceptical as to whether Treyarch could pull it off. The thought of going back to the M1 and Carbine sent a shiver down my spine along with fighting Nazi's et al all over again. I've played around 2 hours (Multiplayer online) and to give a breif summary: The maps I've played are Roundhouse, Castle, Clifftop, Dome? and one that appears to be set in Eastern Europe. The maps are very different to COD4 in the sense that they are much larger and contain a lot of rubble and buildings in which to seek cover. Treyarch have obviously spent a lot of time in getting the atmosphere correct. IMO, this is a massive plus point over the narrow feel of a lot of the COD4 maps, mainly the ones set in the Middle East. The size of the maps also seem to get rid of a lot of the 'camping' although I expect that in a few weeks this may prevail. The game seems a lot grittier and true to life than COD4 and I would say that the visuals are very true to the previous COD. The weapons so far are awesome and I love the 'mechanical feel' that Treyarch have brought to them. My only downside is the sound effect of the frag grenades are appaling. There is obviously no Red Dot Sight, however there are Scopes and Flash Supressors along with Boyonets etc. I've played around 15 team death match levels and the online has been flawless, no lag or disconnections yet (touch wood). I have seen on a few COD related forums that this may not be the case on the XBOX360 which seems to be suffering a few hiccups. I have READ this, please do not turn this into a fan boy debate! The online perks system and menu system continues in a very similar vein to COD4, however there are several new perks, mainly involving the vehicles that can be used online. Increased turret speed, tank spped etc are all in there. The vehicles online are OK, I have so far been for a spin in a tank and whilst enjoyed the 10 kill streak that came with it, I much prefer to be a grunt in the battlefield. Dogs. Jesus Christ! The reward for getting a 7 kill streak is that you get to unleash a pack of killer dogs on your enemy that will literally rip their throuts out. The dogs are a massive advantage and it seems quite common to get around 7 kills with them. Overall so far 9/10 from me. A few graphical'bugs', similar to those in COD 4, are the only neagtive points that I have noticed so far. I'm yet to play the campaign mode so can't really comment.
  10. Ive been really getting into Uncharted : Drakes Fortune this week on the mighty PS3. Really good game well worth £35, although like Call of Duty 4, it will be completed relativley easy.
  11. Maybe not Premiership material but he certainly is Championship. He played really well for us while at stoke
  12. Living in Stoke I got to see a lot of Paul Gallagher during his loan spell and I thought he was a very good loan signing for stoke. I just carnt really see him getting a decent run of games at Ewood for quite a while especially while we have a more exciting prospect in Deryshire. Ps a lot of my mates have never forgiven me for the sale of both Marlon Broomes and Dominic Matteo to their beloved Stoke
