  1. I was driving home from work when I listened to this, so might have misheard. But I'm sure early in the interview, GB states that the issues in India will have no financial impact on the club, including transfers. Only to later confirm that it had caused a massive impact in the summer and it would also need resolving (along with knowing which division we're in) before we know what business we can do in the summer. Which one is it?
  2. I think the Italy game in the last Euros final was a perfect demonstration of Southgate's limitations as a coach. 1-0, on top and the game/trophy there to be won. But he sat back, put on players like Henderson and invited Italy to come upon us. And we all know what happened from there.
  3. One thing that is interesting, off the back of this interview, is that it shows fans are deliberately being directly lied to. Whether it's the SS/Hyam/JDT bits or some other things, either Broughton or Waggott have openly been lying to the fans. And I know where my money is, between the two.
  4. I don't dislike Gregg, but I thought that was a bit of a nothing interview. Didn't discover anything we didn't already know, didn't address the big tickets in any level of detail and was just a bit politician-y.
  5. And what amazes me even more is that the club has taken the 'fingers in the ears / hands over the eyes / they'll all forget about it if we leave it long enough' route. Massive kick in the dick for fans. In terms of the match, I can't explain how depressing it is that a team freshly promoted from League 1 is the favourite for a game being played at Ewood.
  6. Martin Keown. Though, if we're apportioning blame, it was Tord Grip who did the convincing that Keown was the man to take instead of Jansen. Sven was planning on taking Matt right up to the last hours.
  7. In fairness, if we're comparing, JE's games have been far easier - and some we should have been winning (teams around/below us). He's now got plenty of time on the training ground before the next game, against a team full of confidence. The next few games will give us an idea of whether JE is up to it or not...
  8. Impressed with both. Hedges worked really hard at both ends of the pitch and has the ability to travel with the ball. He's hit and miss, but he does have quality at this level.
  9. Agree with all of that. And an example of that last point was Ayari's superb curved ball over the top, right to SG's feet. Obviously SG made a mess of it, but a good striker likely scores from there.
  10. Clean sheet and a point away to one of the form teams - it's a decent result. Thought we played much better than the last couple and created some decent situations in the final third. Expected nothing today, so pleasantly surprised that we were not dry bummed.
  11. I think when the manager is telling them that a point at home to Millwall and/or Plymouth Fucking Argyle is a good result, they will naturally start to believe it. Mentality and momentum are massive in competitive sport. Coach the players to be winners, if you want them to win.
  12. So it’s around 4.30pm in Pune at the time of writing - if the case hasn’t been heard yet, you’d expect it to happen within the next hour or so.
  13. This is what is rubbing a lot of fans the wrong way, myself included. Trying to bullshit the fans about things they've just seen with their own eyes is not the best plan, when you've just walked through the door.
  14. The question is where the club will be and how irreversible the damage is at that point.
  15. Other than his brief appearance against Newcastle, I'd honestly never heard of Koumetio before. However, my Liverpool-supporting mate told me the other night that he's pretty highly rated at Anfield and was surprised we'd got him in on loan. Chuck him in against Boro - we're expecting defeat anyway, so no pressure.
