> Posting Guidelines

When posting please ensure you adhere to the following guidelines. Failure to do so is likely to result in the moderators issuing warnings or bans and removal of the offending posts or threads. This will be particularly enforced in the main football message board.

UPDATED 12th November 2007

1. No bad language

This board attracts a wide range of visitors, including the young and easily offended. We therefore ask that you refrain from using bad language in your posts. Admin consider efforts to "get around" the "bad word filters" by the use of deliberate mis-spelling or */~@# etc. in the same light as the use of the actual word. In some respects attempting to manipulate language in this way is more offensive then it's actual use. This will be enforced in all sections of the message board.

2. No Txt or Warez Speak

TXT SPK and Warez Sp33k is not appreciated on the message board, please make your posts using good, plain English. TXT/Warez speak is difficult to read and very unpopular with many board users. This will be enforced in all sections of the board apart from the non-football section, where it is just likely to make you very unpopular.

3, English Only

While we do appreciate Rovers have a following all over the world, we ask that all posts are made in English so as not to exclude to majority of users. If there is sufficient support for sections in other languages we will happily create them upon request.

4. No Personal Attacks

Whilst lively debate is encouraged, personal attacks are not tolerated. This will be enforced in all sections of the board.

5. Take care with spelling / grammar

Whilst we appreciate not every user will be the next poet laureate, we do ask that users take a certain amount of care when composing posts. It only takes a couple of seconds to read through your post to make sure it makes sense. This is unlikely to be enforced in the non-football section.

6. Use Preview

Often debates become heated and people write things they later regret, after composing your post please click the preview option and re-read it, and consider if you really want to post your remarks.

7. No Flaming

Whilst we ask users to take care with spelling and grammar, we also discourage people from constantly pointing out the spelling and grammatical errors of others. This also extends to any posts designed to insult or provoke, regardless of subject.

8. Nothing abusive or offensive

Users must be refrain from posting anything that could be viewed as abusive or offensive. This includes (but is not limited to) anything that may be classed as racist, sexist, homophobic, bigoted or other wise offensive.

From now on, threads about immigration, race or religion will not be allowed on here. In fact any topic considered by the admin/mods to be potentially offensive, to any individual, will not be tolerated. Those topics will be locked or posts deleted. Posters could be suspended from posting, temporarily or permanently.

9. DONT USE ALL CAPITALS

This annoys other users a lot and gives the impression YOU'RE SHOUTING.

10. One Person, One Account

The message board operates a one person, one account rule. There are a few rare occasions when more than one account per user is acceptable, this must be approved by an administrator first. Signing up a new account whilst your account is banned will result in measures being taken to ensure no further access to the message board.

11. Keep posts relevant to the thread

Please keep all posts relevant to the original thread, this will be enforced far less in the non-football thread, but is still desirable.

12. Have a Point

Please ensure you have a point to make, posting drivel (especially to increase your total number of posts) will not be tolerated. There is a much higher tolerance of drivel in the non-football section, but it is still strongly discouraged.

13. No questionable content or links

Please ensure your posts do not include "questionable" content or links to such content. This is a requirement of our host and will be strictly enforced. This includes (but is not limited to) pornography, race hate, Warez, hacking, material legally judged to be threatening or obscene, and material protected by trade secrets. Links to streams of Live Football matches are classed as questionable content, and any requests posts will result in an immediate temporary ban in the first instance.

14. Think before creating new threads

Nothing is more annoying than multiple threads on exactly the same point, please check that the subject of your new thread has not already been created by checking the existing threads and using the SEARCH feature. Duplicate threads are likely to be locked, repeat offenders will be warned and then banned.

15. Keep personal messages to messenger

The message board is a public forum, if you wish to conduct a conversation with a single user, please use the messenger feature.

16. No Unsolicited Adverts

Whilst we do allow adverts of particular relevance to Rovers fans, all adverts should be submitted via email to admin@brfcs.com before posting. Adverts of no particular interest to Rovers fans are not permitted. This also includes adverts for other websites and businesses. THE BUYING AND SELLING OF FOOTBALL TICKETS IS NOT PERMITTED.

17. No Inline Images

Users are asked not to include large inline images. Appropriate images of sensible proportions are currently allowed, but are normally more suited to the non-football section.

Images should be linked from their own websites unless the source site explicitly agrees to external linking. Many links from inappropriate sites could set off proxys and make the site "non work safe"

18. Signatures

Signatures should be kept to a reasonable size to avoid clutter, and images consistent with the policy in guideline 17

19. No Copyrighted Material

All posts are © Copyrighted to their poster (unless otherwise stated), users are therefore not permitted to post copyrighted material, unless permission has been granted by the copyright owner.

Any copyright owners who find their intellectual property used on this site should contact us and we will arrange immediate removal.

20. Report to Moderator

In the bottom right corner of each post is a link “Report this post to a Moderator”. Clicking this link will generate a Personal Message that will be sent to all Admins and Mods. There will be space for members to explain why they are reporting the post. The Report to Moderator feature is intended to allow members to bring posts they find objectionable or feel to be in breach of the Posting Guidelines to the attention of Admin/Mods. While members are encouraged to use this feature when appropriate it should not be abused. Any member who does abuse the Report to Moderator feature will be in breach of Board Guidelines and may receive a warning or ban as appropriate. Think before you click please.

21. Final Word

The administrators" or moderators" decision is final. On occassions moderators will make decisions that they feel are for the overall good of the site. This includes choosing to close a thread if they feel it can no longer be discussed in a friendly manner and to let minor offences go with a quiet word rather than a formal warning. If a moderator is forced into making such a decision, they will not have done it lightly. Please respect their decision even if you do not agree with it. The moderators do a tough job, please do not make it any harder than it has to be. Now, everyone play nicely together.

22. Complaints

If you disagree with any decision taken by the moderators, you should contact us via email to admin@brfcs.com Any public disagreement will not be tolerated.

23. Recording Admin/Mod Actions

All Admin/Mod actions are logged automatically by the board software, additional to this

A). Any action taken by an Admin/Mod should be recorded in the individual users warn logs. B). Admin/Mod should inform individual members of their action and reason by Personal Messenger
