When people think of Blackburn's rivals, their first thought must be Burnley, but other rivalries have existed across the years

  • Blackburn Olympic While Blackburn Rovers have been national champions on three occasions, there was once a time when they were not even the greatest club in Blackburn.
  • Darwen Before Burnley had even been formed, Rovers already had a fierce rivalry with a local team; Darwen.
  • Oswaldtwistle Rovers Although they may have been a local town, Oswaldtwistle never managed to give birth to a team that could ever even hope to rival Rovers.
  • Witton FC Witton were one of a number of local rivals to Rovers in their early days. They played in the grounds of what is now Witton Park.
  • The Three Clubs of Accrington One town that will seemingly never give up on seeing league football is Blackburn’s neighbours to the east, Accrington.
  • Blackburn Park Road Blackburn Park Road was one of the foremost of the teams that sprung up around Blackburn in the 1870s
