When people think of Blackburn's rivals, their first thought must be Burnley, but other rivalries have existed across the years

- Blackburn Olympic While Blackburn Rovers have been national champions on three occasions, there was once a time when they were not even the greatest club in Blackburn.
- Darwen Before Burnley had even been formed, Rovers already had a fierce rivalry with a local team; Darwen.
- Oswaldtwistle Rovers Although they may have been a local town, Oswaldtwistle never managed to give birth to a team that could ever even hope to rival Rovers.
- Witton FC Witton were one of a number of local rivals to Rovers in their early days. They played in the grounds of what is now Witton Park.
- The Three Clubs of Accrington One town that will seemingly never give up on seeing league football is Blackburn’s neighbours to the east, Accrington.
- Blackburn Park Road Blackburn Park Road was one of the foremost of the teams that sprung up around Blackburn in the 1870s
