> Stephen Warnock

Stephen Warnock is a left sided defender who signed for Rovers in January 2007 from Liverpool for a fee of around £1.5m. Manager Mark Hughes saw him as the ideal replacement for the outgoing Lucas Neill who had been filling in at left back.

Warnock quickly established himself as a tough-tackling defender, and in fact was sent off on his home debut for the club for a second bookable offence in the 2-1 win against Sheffield United. Since then he has gone from strength to strength, leading calls for him to be included in Steve McClaren's England squad as cover for Ashley Cole and Wayne Bridge.

Stephen scored his first goal for the club in the 3-0 win at home to Portsmouth. His attacking forays down the left have resulted in him accumulating a number of goal assists too.
