  1. Past hour
  2. and yet the manager was happy to bring him back. Like I said, he wasn’t fit, as he got fitter he got better. I think the criticism was overblown.
  3. We appointed a bloke from Brighton after Ian Silvester went. He was working from home but it has been said he is now based at Brockhall. Is it not a Company Secretary that needs to be registered at Companies House?
  4. But he wasn’t brought in as a squad player. He was brought in to replace Baker who was 1st reserve for Travis / Tronstadt. Travis was injured so he needed to start immediately. And any other injuries (which happened) meant he would start more. The club was rightly criticised for putting the managers in that position, and the player was rightly criticised as he wasn’t good enough to be starting in those games. So when you say the criticism of his was ‘wildly over-exaggerated ’, I think your way off.
  5. He did want him sacked after a month after all…
  6. Why would we sign a central midfielder (an injured one) to play on the right? And no, its called having an opinion beyond just assuming that if a manager picks a player, its because hes exactly what he wants. Budget restrictions, issues with recruitment etc dont come into it. Still think we are 4 or 5 short. Wanted 6 or 7, lost 2 or 3 that we hadnt factored in. Also still have to sort the futures of Brittain, Tronstad and Travis. We supposedly have "learnt" from previous mistakes
  7. They’d be stealing young talent not promoting it.
  8. As soon as he leaves you’ll be slagging him off. You have form.
  9. We used to keep saying the Gordon Lee quote in a mock Staffs accent for longer than is sensible or even funny!
  10. He was so happy with him he never played him.
  11. The fitter he got the better he played. He’s a squad player who brings vital experience. We don’t have enough of those players so I’m glad he’s here.
  12. ‘A body through the door’ as the parlance goes.
  13. Do we have one of those? ( if we do that’s another thing we haven’t updated Companies House about)
  14. As opposed to being derided for being shite and the stats backing it up. Im the first to hold my hand up if I got a player or manager wrong. With Forshaw, he was the absolute wrong signing at the wrong time.
  15. As you didn’t answer the question I will, there was 0 weeks left. There was probably 24 hours left. There is nothing to convince me that JDT was happy with Telalovic, other than he was given a take it or leave it option on 2 unknowns on deadline day. If he “left it” it meant having no striking option coming in.
  16. Lies, damn lies and statistics. IIRC the stats showed we were more likely to win when S Gally was in the team but he was almost universally derided for being shite.
  17. Of course that could happen same could be said for most strikers before a season starts. I just don’t see your logic behind it considering he scored 9 last year after already playing half a season elsewhere and signs would suggest with a full pre season he could/should get more than that
  18. Need to forget about Baradgi. Elliot reported that what fans have been saying over social media is what the likely Injury is. Stress fracture is an injury you can’t put a time frame on due to how delicate the process is and could need resetting multiple times. I think we will revisit that deal in January unless they accept lowball offer to originally agreed
  19. Littler has a relatively easy quarter compared to some of the others, but should be tasty from the semis onwards.
  20. not this again, JDT signed off on Telalovic and he could have signed that other striker plus Ennis. Maybe he should have just sign one striker instead with Gallagher and Leonard.
  21. It wouldn't be a surprise if he got say 7. I'd be quite surprised if he got more than the 9 he managed last season. I dont see him as a 15 goal a season striker. Even if he did, we still need far more unless everyone starts chipping in from all over the pitch which they haven't done to date.
  22. As Aspinall won this in 2023, it comes off his ranking points so he will be at best 23rd in the world after this tournament ends. Shows how quickly you can start falling in the rankings
  23. never included Buckley in that 5. Travis, Tronstad, Montgomery, Forshaw and Tavares is the 5 maybe not for yourself cos it suits you I said this morning we need 3 more signings in now, a centre back, right side attacking player and striker. Plus any replacement if Travis, Pears, Tronstad or Brittain leaves that's gives us 26 players in the squad. Won't Baradji be that right side attacking player if he signs here? is it? so JDT and Eustace told you this? Both picked him regularly
  24. Cantwell looked in very good shape yesterday. Worked hard, and it was his burst in to the box that enabled De Neve tap in. Didn’t see that sort of sprint from him last season, I think he’s going to be a key player this year. Needs to be more selfish with pop shots, But a fitter, sharper Cantwell could easily add this to his game. Still needs a back up for him as he won’t be able to play every game
