I think you might read too much into the friendly selections tbh. Certainly in previous seasons they haven't always reflected who is first choice.

Im guessing we will have a very quiet week this week with everyone (presumably) away in Spain. We dont seem to have been linked to very many attacking players and those we have have seemingly been bogus. Hopefully we can get some in before the season starts. Hard to not see Hedges starting the season and probably lingering indefinitely. Based on the selections for the first 2 friendlies, it feels like many of the places are locked down in terms of building for West Brom. De Neve, Ribeiro and Ohashi over Kargbo, Pickering and Gueye. Only question mark is perhaps between Wharton and McLoughlin. The latter has had some pre season minutes too.

I think he was pointing out we only got 18 million plus the add ons, whilst you're pointing out we get 22 million including the add ons (if they happen...one is a competitive England cap and as far as I'm aware they have only capped him in a friendly so far...if they sell him first I don't believe we would get that).

I don't get the total obsession with Mcllroy. Yes, I know he's now only the 6th player to have won the grand slam and we'll done to him for that. But whenever there's a tournament on its like he's the only person playing to the exclusion of other UK and Ireland players who might be doing better that particular week and whether he's in meaningful contention or not. As it happens, as with the boxing and Usyk we're probably quite privileged at the moment in being able to watch 2 all time greats in Scheffler and Mcllroy. Scheffler surely won't take long to polish off the US Open and complete the grand slam. Thought it was the most boring final round to any Open for a while today. Not Scheffler's fault, he's just too good and no-one closest to him could put in the ultra low round needed to put him under any real pressure.

It felt like we scored a few similar to that last season. We didnt score anywhere near enough goals in general last season but quite a few especially under Eustace (2 at Cardiff stand out) were really well constructed team goals. Brittain often played a huge part, if and when he goes he will be such a huge miss. Moving forward he manages to compose himself to make good decisions and has the technical ability to put in excellent crosses. This new lad seems to be far more athletic but we wont be able to match the quality that Brittain has. Cantwell also can play a big part. His dummy was really good yesterday, he did have involvements (eg at Boro away) in the build up showing intelligence that none of our other players have.

If you genuinely thought that he was satisfied by the club filling the void of a striker he was desperate for with Semir Telalovic then you are more gullible than I thought.
