  1. Past hour
  2. Rochdale set to move home games to rebuild pitch And that's a fan owned club in the National League, who had major financial problems less than 2 years ago. Not a Championship club with alleged billionaire owners
  3. The ball was stopping more central then the Ipswich game were that part of the pitch seem better. Also felt the rain was more heavy yesterday than Ipswich game. Just after abandonment the weather was much worse than the Ipswich game.
  4. Add it to the list of things you know because of the Venkys.
  5. Physically absolutely not, but I'd expect between him and the club they would know how many times a year Ewood Park is not fit for a match. I would expect this is recorded by the groundsman/ club and when challenged by the EFL I would want tough questions asked as to why no money out of the considerable funds the EFL give to the club is being spent on making the pitch playable in heavy rain.
  6. Being unable to fulfil a fixture is punishable by the EFL. We’ve now been unable to fulfil two.
  7. My thoughts… https://www.brfcs.com/articles/500-words-on-rain-and-the-pennines
  8. On the plus side, rarely have I felt as well-informed about drainage, so there is that…👀
  9. Also the factor of 48 games and counting to collect yellow cards in probably contributing to one or two additional suspensions. Wouldn't like to bet on yesterday being the last second half abandonment.
  10. Salah's form this form has been awful and rightly dropped from the team. Others have been similar.. Liverpool shouldn't have renewed Salah given his age but also wages. Also they didn't strengthen their team squad in the summer. No long term Salah replacement signed, no centre back if not 2 signed, no number 6(defensive midfielder) signed either. Also Slot has changed his tactics with more tippy tappy football and less long balls. Also they dont press as much as under Klopp. Also why wont Slot start or bring on Chiesa earlier? Losing TAA has impact how they played but also not having him in the dressing room
  11. In the sixties, by this time in the season the majority of the pitch was just mud with the only grass tending to be on the wings. Thanks for putting that video up. Remember that season well as we were relegated from the First Division whilst reaching the quarter final of the FA Cup. All season folk said we were far too good to go down - and we really shouldn't have - but we managed to get relegated with a record low points total at the time, just 20 points.
  12. I didn't say it would resolve it but would help to a point.
  13. Exactly. Wasted our day. The travel the expense, then expect people to pay again to go down there. Not this time.
  14. Water will still get in it and back it up due to water volume etc just because its pointing downstream still won't solve the issue.
  15. No expertise beyond GCSE physics, but I suppose the water is now channeled to where the river runs faster?! Rather than slower moving in the wider part where the wall is. However it doesn't resolve the primary issue which seems to be how slow the immediate drainage from the pitch is, or when the river level reaches the outlet height
  16. Aside from nothing else we wake up this morning talking about this shite again, instead of being 3 points better off and wondering if Ohashi will kick on, etc. Literally robbing us of our football.
  17. This isn't the groundsman fault.
  18. Bolting on a pipe wouldn't be expensive in the slightest. Although the flow of the drainage now goes with the flow of the river, the pipe looks so small it would probably be restricting the outflow.
  19. Interesting subject... I feel the analysis is generally better than days of Hansen, Lawrenson, Shearer et al. spouting cliches about passion, heart, desire. On the other hand, there is a horrible excess of everything now online, with the same people everywhere. It's designed both to be addictive and, maybe, even, soul-destroying. In some cases, it's a parasocial situation with these podcasts, an imaginary alternative to the social circles people lack, I feel.
  20. It was much worse against ipswich but you kept banging on about it was playable and that McKenna was the one who called it off. It was the correct decision to call it off both times from where I was sat, ridiculous that we're in this situation in 2025.
  21. Unfortunately he's just got hit where it hurts! Why does everyone think this is funny?
  22. Yesterday's conditions were worse but just after the abandonment its rain very heavy. The pitch can't sustain that much water on it as post match pictures shown this. We need a new modern day pitch
  23. Today
  24. Are we going to witness a stokes miracle innings?
  25. Comments from Sheffield Wednesday boss thanking their fans etc but nothing from Rovers. Why are they silent?
  26. I want the club to be dragged in front of the EFL and be held to account. We get more rain than the vast majority of the country in East Lancs and we have people working on the pitch daily, surely those people will know how many times out of the 365 days a year the pitch would be unplayable. I want the club and head groundsman to be interviewed on public record to admit how many times that pitch would be unplayable, and who has decided to do nothing be it the groundsman not letting the club know (impossible in my eyes) or the club ignoring his requests. I feel I already know the answer to this but I want the jokers running this club to be exposed.
