  1. Past hour
  2. Okay, I will give you a scenario, hypothetical granted, but not beyond all realms of possibility. Let’s choose Middlesbrough as an example. They are leading 0-2 and the same happens again, so due to our lack of investment on our pitch, the match gets abandoned and a replay is ordered that we go on to win, costing them 3 points, which in turn, costs them a place in the premier league. Do you think they should just shrug their shoulders and sit back and count the cost, of them missing out on the premier league?
  3. They haven't, for all the reasons I outlined.
  4. The summer when we went down, we spent just over £1m on fees. Is that not sparing any expense? And that was off the back of a season where anyone remotely sellable was sold. The summer when the court case really started was possibly the strongest in terms of cut backs but far from an isolated incident. There has been the odd summer where we have had even a reasonable summer in terms of net spend, the one upon promotion and Tomasson's first season which are both exceptions to the rule. Think the season I just mentioned that led to relegation, think the season we sold Armstrong and they wouldnt spend a fee, and think the season when we sold Cairney/Gestede etc and brought in a whole host of cheap crap, and even in those years they would have had to offset some sort of loss. Many other summers we barely spent a fee too. This idea that they "pump in £20m a year" seems to linger in some minds as if have been actively and willingly putting in money, rather than just the standard Championship owner raising share capital/adding debt to offset general expenses. Im not even sure that the worst of the problems have been in line with the court case. Seems like a bit of an excuse.

  6. 100%. The threat of pretty severe sanctions is also probably the only way anything approaching a proper solution will ever get done. Otherwise we'll just be treated to yet more BS along the lines of "a drainage sleeve" getting done "that week" but nothing ever actually happening.
  7. I honestly do not believe talk of further punishment is daft. It’s the clubs fault alone this, so why should they get away with it?
  8. We've already punished ourselves by losing possibly up to 5 points, getting injuries unnecessarily, bookings to count towards suspensions unnecessarily, national embarassment and having to play 2 more league games this season than nearly everyone (except Ipswich and Sheff W, for who it's only one more). Talk of any further punishment is daft.
  9. If only we had the gumption of a club of the status of, say, Rochdale. More determined to sort out the problem immediately rather than risk it killing more winter games. We as a MINIMUM should be reimbursing all away fans tickets and travel, AND making plans to sort it out immediately and groundsharing in the meantime, even if that means with Blackpool.
  10. Yet weirdly there is an article on LT with quotes from their manager talking about the pitch flooding an nothing from Vi same as Ipswich, so their coach clearly spoke to the media
  11. I think the pitch and subsoil must be clogged up and will need a major overhaul in summer. If it were merely the drain not being able to take the water in very heavy rain, (i.e. running full bore), all it would need is a sump and a pump with a discharge pipe over the river.
  12. People not allowed to be interviewed, ex employees having to sign NDAs etc. Where are we living? North Korea?
  13. Ewood Floods Again Read the full article on the front page and let us know your thoughts.

  15. Salah has been dogshite all season and deservedly dropped. Poor poor form to throw toys out of the pram.
  16. We are the talk of Football for all the wrong reasons, kicked on our Arse and dragged backwards through the Shit by our so-called owners.
  17. The managers weren't allowed to be interviewed after the Ipswich postponement either.
  18. The Foundations of the Roof Supports were Corroding away seriously. There was also danger to the Roof in high winds...it wasnt in good condition when it was closed.
  19. The EFL should charge the club with the resulting disciplinary outcome being an order to invest in better drainage etc. They should make clear if we don’t and there’s another abandonment they’ll charge us again and this time there’d be a points deduction.
  20. i doubt venkys even acknowledge they own us these days, they`ve given pasha the club and all he is interested in is drawing a fat renumeration every year
  21. The league will be scrutinising us now and I think some sort of heavy fine is inevitable and probably welcome if it forces the Ewood hierarchy to act and buy or hire proper equipment to keep the pitch playable. In the longer term the pitch clearly needs relaying in the summer. The worry is if another match is called off this season, and then the risk is that league might consider docking us points, which would be a disaster given our current position. It's just another sign that the club is slowly being run into the ground, as the reporter from the Sheffield Star noted. Ewood is being starved of investment and tired and shabby, and it looks it. Even in the posh seats in the Jack Walker Stand it's noticeable. We had a meal there a few years ago and the whole place looked like it needed a revamp. The toilets, quite frankly, were disgusting. This is also so sad ....... and the torment of these despicable owners shows no sign of ending
  22. the old riverside was condemned because wooden stands got outlawed after the bradford fire,it was in remarkably good condition when they pulled it down,id`e say years of underinvestment on the pitch and drainage has caused our current problems, the river darwen was at normal levels when i walked past at 2.40pm.absolutely nothing to do with the river imo,the rain was`nt torrential it was just constant
  23. To call that significant investment is absolutely absurd. It’s like rolling SpongeBob square pants along the bottom of the ocean and that pipe, my god that is the size of my kitchen sink drainage pipe. We are such a clown show.
  24. No matter what this regime does, they'll never take this club from me. One of only six clubs to win the Premier League, founder member of the Football League and the Premier League, only club to win the FA Cup three times in a row. Only English club to win major honours across three centuries. The most successful town club in the world. That is nothing to sniff at, we are Blackburn Rovers. We are a proud historic institution. And we still will be long after they're gone.
  25. Ah so now they've reduced the flow so it backs up in the drains quicker ?
