  1. Past hour
  2. Possibly throw in Cantwell too, as no chance he is signing a new contract either
  3. Yep keeper and right back will be paying for next years running costs.
  4. Spot on, Alebiosu is probably the most important player in the side with this current system. If he gets injured we have nobody who can play that role. Duru would have been the obvious choice but of course that is our of the window (at least for the moment). If Ismael doesn't fancy Duru then we definitely need cover at rwb in January
  5. Both right, born in Belgium to English parents
  6. He’s from Belgium.
  7. Who leaves? I fear Tyjon. One of the left backs? Any one we receive an offer for whose contract is up next Summer. Tronstad or Cantwell? Last summer left us all bemused so no great clamour for new signings especially as has been mentioned we have returnees and an unseen newbie. Pickering has played right back in the past so might be viewed as cover for RA.
  8. More evidence that buyers of Championship clubs simply do not exist…
  9. And a difference that those in charge will find out again either in January or next summer, when the inevitable sale of the player who will by then be known as "Greedy Greedy Toth" comes back to bite us on the behind
  10. Yep, a cast iron rule of football, another lesson this regime has ignored for a decade.
  11. I still think he struggles to change things mid match (despite what happened v Southampton last week), but he does tend to set us out to start the game well, and as you say, the players do seem to be playing for him
  12. End of the day they don’t sack managers, especially ones that toe the line, regardless of results. So we just have to hope the time he’ll get by default gives him the breathing space to get it right.
  13. We used to play all the State teams twice I think plus one or two made up teams back in the day. Just reading back as best as I can to the first series I remember in Australia - 1958-59. According to the records as well as the 5 Tests we played 15 other First Class matches.
  14. As he did at Hull in that invaluable win. The difference between a good keeper and an average one is massive to us.
  15. Today
  16. For me the last two performances have put to bed any thoughts thst - “ the players aren’t playing for him. “
  17. I agree about O’Riordan, I suspect he’ll be recalled to be the “ bench “ centre half. I’ve only seen Duru once but my immediate impression was - he’s not ready.
  18. Don’t forget that excellent bit of fullback play when he put a great block on a goal bound shot very early on. He didn’t dive in to the tackle but he stood off his opponent slightly to give himself some reaction time. The lad’s a game changer.
  19. There’s possibly nobody harder on the team than me when we play badly but when we play well I’m equally happy to bask in our successes. I really enjoyed yesterday’s game. For me that was more of what Blackburn Rovers should be about. Everybody was playing to the best of their ability and giving 100%. That’s all I ever ask of the 11 on the pitch in Rovers colours.
  20. Of course ‘99 doesn’t have ‘an agenda’, apart from wanting the best for the club, so surprised at that comment. He’s obviously a passionate Rovers fan or he wouldn’t be spending so much time on here (like the rest of us)
  21. Some of his crosses are dreadful - not knocking him one but, I'm a massive fan, but they are. I would say Brittain edges it on crossing ability, but for me Alebiosu is a better all round player - his pace is a defenders cheat code.
  22. don't worry, Jake Garrett & Baradji will be fit soon... like 2 new signings 😉
  23. We will look stranger once we get the injured players back but for me Centre Midfield is week .. TGH , Tavares and Montgomery Forshaw .. that is piss poor imo and Tronstad will be off end of season so work need to be done there
  24. IMO it would be prudent not to grow reliant on TC…
  25. It's not about cheerleading at all. As this is the Leicester thread the focus should be on that and how the game was. I do get the impression that some are reluctant to praise anything because of their general criticism of the club. I agree there are many, many things wrong at our club but if praise can't be given to the players and staff after a really good win then in my opinion there is an agenda.
