  1. Past hour
  2. Actually, I don't think it is worse. First, the ball does bounce in the clip and travel reasonably well even though the pitch looks horrendous (as did many in those days.)
  3. Said last time, if the problem is the actual drain into the river not being able to get rid of the water quickly enough, then add more outlets and/or intercept the drain, dig a sump and pump it over the top into the river.
  4. In cricket, if it rains, they bring the covers on to protect the pitch. How much do tarpaulins cost? Covering just the centre of the pitch where most play occurs would help even if you can't afford more than one for the wings. Rain is forecastable days ahead. Covering the ground beforehand to stop the turf being totally saturated gives it the capacity to soak up 90 minutes worth of rain on the day. IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE! Organisation and a bit of forethought is all that's required n'est pas. Oh, wait a minute, this is Venky Rovers, I forgot, my bad.
  5. Suspended 5 point deduction and having to pay compensation to their affected opponents: https://www.efl.com/contentassets/2360941774f04705bf2c384b511bca04/221219--efl-v-coventry-city--agreed-decision--ratified.pdf
  6. It looks like the drainage specialist is the new angle. A "wee gem" is that one. I can imagine the opposition kicking up a huge fuss were this to happen again and they were winning at the time. I'm all for it. I want more of this because I want the spotlight on these people.
  7. Well that your opinion RF99. I have told you mine and yesterday's pitch conditions were worse than Ipswich and were happening sooner in the game. Same old BORING lines of Echoed the club doesnt help your point. Maybe try accepting my opinions. I stand by Ipswich game abandonment comments.
  8. What happened to Coventry when they couldn't fulfill their home fixtures, when their pitch had cut up because they allowed a rugby game to be played on it ?
  9. Ah! So the drainage specialist might be the one to blame. I had a feeling people were being harsh and unnecessarily blaming Suhail. It appears Suhail did all he could. He got a drainage specialist to look into it. Thanks, Alan.
  10. don`t bother going if it`s raining as forecast,it`s raining now and im`e near chorley, apparently it has to rain tommorow and tuesday so the chances of a playable pitch are about as likely as a labour tax cut
  11. 1-1 at the Ewood log flume. 8-9k on in reality. Clubs fooked.
  12. Can you do me a favour please and ask him for the regulation number? Ta in advance.
  13. It's to absolutely chuck it down in Blackburn from 02:00 Tuesday morning for 8 hours followed by lighter rain. The club will not want the embarrassment of a 3rd abandonment in a matter of weeks and given the distance involved with Oxford, I think the game will be postponed pre lunch. I think we are a club in a race to the bottom both literally and metaphorically. Sad times for a once great club.
  14. Don't you mean, "Head of internal PR".
  15. I've gone and had a look, and I can find these non-Rovers examples of Championship games from the past 12 years being abandoned because of the weather: March 2023 - Rotherham v Cardiff abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch. Some controversy over this one as apparently Rotherham had their sprinklers on at half-time in the middle of a downpour. December 2016 - Reading v Fulham abandoned due to heavy fog. Visibility issues rather than the pitch being unplayable. December 2013 - Sheffield Wednesday v Wigan abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch. So in the last 12 years there have been 4 Championship games abandoned due to waterlogged pitches, and 2 of those have been at Ewood Park in the last 3 months.
  16. that **** will claim anything,no doubt he knows about the ceasefire talks between russia and ukraine
  17. I haven’t been to RedBrick Mill for a while…gives me an excuse 😁
  18. The new club spokesman when the pressure is on.
  19. Loan out / sell experienced players and bring in untested youngsters, probably from significantly inferior leagues. I'm sure that'll help us climb the table. Not that Gueye will be any loss, mind. Great personality but a terrible footballer.
  20. Failing to fulfill fixtures is misconduct - guilt is assumed unless the club can demonstrate they couldn’t have foreseen or reasonably have anticipated and remedied (using best endeavours) the issue prior to the event. I think the club would struggle to argue this given it’s the second time it’s happened in a few months. I guess their argument would be ‘haven’t you seen our new pipe thingy and our big sponge thingies’. Should the EFL not be convinced by this argument, one of the disciplinary options is for the club to be ordered to carry out ‘a specific performance’. In this situation, I can’t see how such a performance wouldn’t be something along the lines of ‘sort your fucking drains out you muppets’. Misconduct is such a broad offence that the available punishments go as far as expulsion from the league - I think that one might be a bit too extreme though!!
  21. Why would Hasta ask Nixon what you think? The questions raised asking your opinion are valid and it would be interesting to know what you think on this (rather than just passing on other people's views without critically appraising them).
  22. Salah fell out with Klopp as well. Think he's just very sensitive to criticism.
  23. So defensive. You were asked your view on a topic you posted about. Can you let us know what topics you'll get shirty about and which are on the table, please?
  24. The most reliable source it seems! He even knows about pitch drainage
