Not only poorly written but why tell Rovers fans that ..... I'm not going to repeat it. I'm not interested where his men are after tonights game. I'm only interested where my team is. COYB!!! -

The tense of the verb is all-important. "Will" describes a certain future event while the conditional "would" describes a hypothetical or possible event In other words, that's the Rovers website predicting an Ipswich win. It's not pedantry; it's wrong -

Talk about setting the tone.. Rovers' website preview of the game states as follows: "Sitting eighth in the table, McKenna's men will rise to fourth in the standings with a victory this evening." Not being funny, but can't anyone on the Rovers staff actually write English - a more accurate sentence might have used the word 'would' rather than 'will'. Pedantry, I know, but it feels like the club already accepts the inevitability of a negative outcome, instead of going in knowing it is a game of football, in which as we know, anything can happen. As I said earlier, we need to stick the form book up their conceited tractor boy arse. What we need, and what we get - often two diametrically opposed concepts, from the existential perspective of a long-standing Rovers fan.. FWIW, COYB! -

The formation is probably as interesting as the line up. We've already nigh on beaten them with a back 4. -

He desperately needs wins on the board and even more so at home. Baradji has been identified as an important player for the fateful project. Never under estimate how much of a risk a desperate manager will take. -
Did Barton ever play for England?

Lancaster Rover replied to Elrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If we end up losing tonight and go down by 3 points it won’t be anything to do with the cancellation. It will be to do with not gaining enough points in the other 45 games. The fact remains we didn’t beat Ipswich, we were beating them, the 3 points weren’t secured and the abandonment was in large part due to inadequacies of the drainage systems at Ewood. whilst the club will dine out for months if we lose, the fact is losing at home to Birmingham, Norwich, Swansea and Sheff Utd will be the reason we’re relegated, not the debacle against Ipswich. -

Doubt he will. It’s still too early for him to start games. Needs a lot of games to get up to full math fit and sharpness -
Last I heard there was a shortage and undoubtedly there is a lot of truth in the abuse theory. Having said that mens amateur football seems to be suffering from a shortage of teams/players. Blackburn Combination had five leagues when I started. I think there are only two or three now.

I have just driven past Ewood and there are no TV trucks parked up although I don't know how many vehicles they usually have for red button matches. -
Intriguing. I thought lower leagues and amateur football was struggling to get refs due to mindless violence and aggro which is just not worth it.

Thanks for the reply arbitro. Just on the point above, you hear that a lot (and I'm not necessarily disagreeing). But wasn't that an issue because too many mistake were being made? So, handballs missed, offsides incorrect and so on. Thus VAR introduced. Now of course, VAR is 'ruining the game' and why can't we go back to letting referees referee? 🙂 So it would seem, whatever we do, chunnering up and down the land will occur. 🙂
