The Venkys Rain continues...

Lancaster Rover replied to Elrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It's cleared right up in Lancaster and no further rain forecast, assuming Blackburn isn't too dissimilar you'd think with the wind and the time to kick off the pitch would have sufficient time to drain into the river -

I looked at the river at 12.15. It was running fast but wasn't above the bottom of the drain quite. -

My increasing dad jokes are a further sign of these desperate times! At least I avoided signing off with "I'll get my (rain)coat" -

Yes exactly they have been “running “ the club for 15 years the only person who spoke out of terms in that tenure (JDT) was gone immediately this is all orchestrated -

Blackburn Rovers in 2025 have fans frantically checking rain graphs, scouring other fans forums for information and measuring river flows. If somebody told me even 5 years ago this was going to be the case I would have probably walked away and never looked back. -

Port Vale vs Bradford off due to waterlogged pitch, gives the wretches Suhail & Rudy something to point at -

River Darwen levels currently running at same height as Saturday 4.30pm levels. Needs to drop quickly to help pitch to drain. -

Strong southerly wind blowing to help the pitch dry, skies clearing, 🤞 -
Will a Wharton sell-on fee buy us a new pitch? Adam bails the club out twice.

Heavy ground plus too many games in too short a period = hamstrings. Good job we have a huge squad of top players (not). Balancing all considerations a 14:00 postponement is the best outcome for us. The rest day won't come amiss for tired legs. Live to fight another day. -

Would be so much better for the fans and players if they just called it now let those who are working and doing their day jobs know in advance to prevent them arriving to find out it’s being abandoned after 15mins or whatever -

As if I’d have anything better to do😁😁 Years 6-10 average £12.46 million Years 11-15 average £9.05 million As an aside: Years 6-10 is nearly entirely (95%) an increase in debt to the Venkys. Years 11-15 has a reduction in debt to the Venkys (-£6 million) but a large increase (+£51.24 million) in equity. - Today

Seems the Oxford forum have more information on pitch inspections than we have due to lack of communication out of Ewood. -

It had already been turned upside down, and flipped about a few more times before that snowball connected! -
If I was Wharton I'd look abroad. The top clubs in England are chaotic at the moment and have huge squads. It's hard to be that sure you will get consistent games. Man Utd - really poor team, and have ruined and are ruining so many good young players you would have to be mad to go Man City - very stifling tactical setup, massive squad, what happens when Rodri is fit? Like Utd have track record of taking on young players and marginalising them Chelsea - truly massive squad, vast turnover, got a lot of centre mids. Liverpool - maybe best bet - but do they have any money after spending so huge in the summer? Arsenal - Could work but not sure they are looking to spend at the moment? Munich, Real, Barca all good shouts I would say.

3pm and 5pm. If so, then more likelihood of going ahead. But 5 is late for Oxford fans. -

Won't somebody think about poor old BwDBC. They need to know what is happening so they can make arrangements for their army of parking wardens to get on patrol. If the game is called off late they might incur additional wages and won't be able to fine anyone to cover it.
