Bet he can't believe his luck when a then desperate Rovers signed him again. Tavares - unproven and his track record at his last club far from convincing. Buckley - a stroller, not Championship level and Ismael's type of player. Montgomery - do not understand the hype about this lad who last season was playing for Marine and Chorley. Seen nothing to suggest he can be an answer in midfield. He can run, so what?

If they loan Leonard out then it means they’re probably looking for another. I also think there’s a chance that Big Mak is less suited to VI’s way of playing too… But, I would prefer to spend the money elsewhere. I think Yuki and Big Mak are both capable of getting double figures this season and 20-30 goals between them is solid. We only play one striker so we could back those two up with Leonard who needs an injury free, breakthrough season.

Good thing about Val is for me he brings something a bit different, a bit like JDT did but a more grounded lower risk style yet brighter than the generic TM/Eustace stuff. Early days in his first full season obviously but the end of last season was encouraging.

If that is the case, then it is a step in the right direction. Although the pessimist in me notes that with Rovers under Venkys, one step forwards is often followed by at least a couple of backwards steps 😉

Agree. Buckley has been given his chance but needs to be moved on. Litherland was given 20 mins yesterday but wasn't in squad v Accy Stanley. Eustace used him on the bench but don't think he came on. Must be frustrating for a player not getting game time.

During the poor start he had, he came across to me as not really being bothered but it's actually that he's very level headed, doesn't get too high or low. The way he has addressed the Brittain situation is spot on, a lot of players have indicated JE was a great man-manager, but it's come to light he covered up the Szmodics situation. Like others, I'm warming to VI - unlike JE he's willing to be honest with the fan base

Usyk is the only one around today that would be able to compete in another era. He fights more like a middleweight or welterweight. It really is something to see. Enjoyed the bout an thought Dubois was starting to come into it until that 5th round. Usyk's counterpunches were unreal though.

Disagree. We might have 5 centre midfielders but the quality once you move past Travis and Tronstad is very questionable. I can live with Forshaw as 5th choice but Buckley needs to be sold. He's not a VI type player - sell him and bring one more in.
