Intriguing. I thought lower leagues and amateur football was struggling to get refs due to mindless violence and aggro which is just not worth it.

Thanks for the reply arbitro. Just on the point above, you hear that a lot (and I'm not necessarily disagreeing). But wasn't that an issue because too many mistake were being made? So, handballs missed, offsides incorrect and so on. Thus VAR introduced. Now of course, VAR is 'ruining the game' and why can't we go back to letting referees referee? 🙂 So it would seem, whatever we do, chunnering up and down the land will occur. 🙂

If we lose this game and get relegated as a consequence of losing 3 points from the abandonment, let's be absolutely clear where the blame lies. The club has known we have a drainage issue for years and apart from tinkering at the edges, has, IMO, done feck all to find a lasting solution. As some have already posted, don't want to see or hear any whining, gnashing of teeth or bellyaching from club and/or fans. All will just have to suck it up. -

I wonder if Ismael will throw caution to the wind tonight and chuck Baradji in from the start? -

Agreed. I think we are looking at a comfortable 0-3 win for Ipswich here and the club moaning about the whole thing for weeks on end. -

Think of it from the players perspective they're gonna be pissed too at the decision. The game was won if this doesn't fire them up tonight and get their legs moving then I don't know what will. A very gritty 2-1 Rovers. (Blue n white shades removed 👌) COYB! -
Don't think it would be a full house but with their following we'd definitely be looking at 22-23k. We'll not hit 18k as it is unless Wrexham turn out big. A slight hit might be taken at the cheaper price but much bigger crowd but more revenue is taken on everything else and it's about re-engagement. If the team doesn't flop for once a few more might fancy coming again or buying a half ST/bundle or whatever. We have our own free advertising at a game like that.

Many people have given up on Blackburn as a town and moved away to other areas, rarely coming back unless it is to visit the hospital etc. Make no mistake there are thousands of such people who are or were regular Ewood visitors, together with many thousands more who have never lived in Blackburn or Darwen and instead have always been based in other areas or regions yet have travelled to Ewood for matchdays. Sadly Rovers have made a decision to give up on such people and areas. In my opinion one of the most unforgivable and damaging acts of an extremely damaging group of people. - Today

Should be a good match we need to stop the losses at ewood and start some momentum Pratt is an exciting revelation the players will be motivated for justice heart is saying we win 1-0 with ice man continuing his form ………. Saying all that however we will probably lose 0-2 -
I probably do Tyrone. But as football has and always will evolve I don't believe refereeing has kept pace with it. The law makers certainly don't help neither the game or officials with the constant tinkering to the laws and diktats from the authorities. When I was active an esteemed colleague had a saying which was 'let the referees referee'. I agree wholeheartedly with that.

Missing out from away fans contributing as well. Club benefits from fleecing big followings but aside from the Fernhurst and a few taxi drivers not much else makes the most of it. Blackburn was the central focal point of East Lancs and far beyond for football, shopping and day/night out. What is it now ? Town and club absolutely mirror each other as shells of their former selves. -
It's like I'm living in a time warp. The Club just keeps on repeating the same old tried, tested and failed approaches to ticketing offers and apparently expects a different outcome. They've done similar to this pretty much every year for the last 20 years now. Each and every time the uptake is a matter of 100s at best. Why keep on doing the same thing again and expecting a different outcome? Or maybe they don't expect a different outcome and are just doing it to give an appearance of making serious efforts? And I haven't touched on the diabolical behaviour and approach of the club over the last few years and the clear obvious impact that has had on attendances. Almost as though they don't recognise that actions (or lack of) eventually have consequences.

With VAR I dont understand why they dont just have a timer. Count down from 15 seconds , 2 best camera angles played at real time. If the referee cant make their mind up it wasnt a clear and obvious error. -

I don't want to derail the discussion, but it's very different. By going and playing in Saudi Arabia, or joining LIV, participating in a comedy festival there, or doing a host of any other jobs in KSA you are being paid directly by the authoritarian regime, benefiting from their restrictive policies, and existing within infrastructure that is built using slave labour. There are lots of reasons to be critical of the US Government and many American companies, but playing for Inter Miami doesn't mean that your salary is literally coming from Donald Trump, nor are you playing in the Raytheon Arena, and you aren't living in a society that has been built (recently) by slave labour. It's very hard to have a clean life where you don't tacitly endorse certain activities, but you can put in some degree of effort to distance yourself from them. Banking with HSBC means I use the same financial institution as many organizations and individuals I disagree with (many of whom HSBC is even investing in), but that isn't the same as taking money directly from those groups. It's disingenuous to imply otherwise.

What would be defined as daylight? Thats where the added subjectivity would come into play. It seems pedantic how just a tiny part needs to be offside to be flagged as such, but at least that rule is clear.
