What was it exactly about this story that promped you to post it on here?

Hello Colin,

I've got another story for you today, which you may or may not be interested in.

I like to keep people updated and informed of the alleged misdemeanours of footballers. Just providing a service Colin....

Marlon King charged with sexually assaulting and punching a woman

Jamaican striker Marlon King, who is on loan to Middlesbrough from Wigan, is alleged to have sexually assaulted and punched a 20-year old woman in a London nightclub in December.

King was on loan to Hull City at the time of the alleged incident. He now plays on loan for Gareth Southgate at the Riverside Stadium, having reportedly upset Hull's manager Phil Brown.

The woman received hospital treatment for a broken nose and a split lip. King was charged today and has been released on bail to appear in court on February 25th on charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and sexual assault, the Met police said.

If King is convicted of this offence, I would hope that you'd agree Colin that his behaviour would have been unacceptable.

As footballers are on very high wages, which are partly funded through supporters buying expensive tickets, I believe that fans are entitled to get irritated if the behaviour of footballers falls below an acceptable set of standards.

I was strongly critical of the likes of Lee Hughes, who killed another passenger and then selfishly ran away from the scene without any regard for the person who was killed or the other passengers who were seriously injured. The judge said that Hughes had "a callous disregard for the victims".

In the case of Plymouth goalkeeper Luke McCormick, he killed two young brothers after he had downed beer and was over twice the drink drive limit. The court heard that McCormick had "drove like an idiot" at 90mph.

Marlon King hasn't been convicted yet, for a different offence. If King is convicted, then I'll be one of the first to say that he's a selfish scumbag whose behaviour was unacceptable.

Why?

Can't you just collect pine cones instead?

That story about the League One club reminded me a little of my school days.

That's NOT to say, I hasten to add, that anything actually happened and it was only horse-play and nothing quivered (as far as I know) but there were always a group of guys who found the spontaneous clothed mock gang bang an absolute hoot.

Something of a paradox because these guys acted homophobic at all other times.

Bendtner goes on a bender and is caught with his trousers down....

bendtner-500x397.jpg

The chap pictured above with his jeans around his knees is Arsenal's Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner.

Following on from Arsenal's woeful performance on Wednesday night in the Champions League against Man United - some would describe the performance as pants - Mr Bendtner decided to literally expose his pants in the early hours of the morning at a London nightclub.

At least he did keep his underpants on and didn't strip any further I suppose, but it was still a rather unedifying sight to see Bendtner having to be escorted by the club's doormen in a calamitous state at 4am.

Bendtner - the guy who likes wearing ridiculous pink boots - has had nightclub problems in the past. A year ago he was photographed drinking out of a three-litre vodka bottle at a Copenhagen bar, while last November he was criticised for going on a drinks binge after Denmark had lost 1-0 in a friendly match with Wales.

The blonde Dane has apologised for his latest drunken antics this week, blaming his behaviour on being "depressed" by Arsenal's Champions League semi-final defeat.

Monsieur Wenger is known to take a dim view of players getting drunk, believing that footballers need to take care of their bodies and so Wenger is unlikely to be impressed with Bendtner's latest indiscretions.

In an official statement on the Arsenal website, Bendtner says: "Reaching a Champions League Final is one of my biggest dreams and getting knocked out was a massive blow. However, no matter how disappointed I was, it does not excuse my behaviour later in the evening. I may be young but my actions were a poor error of judgment and something I deeply regret."

Despite being photographed with his trousers around his knees, there's no suggestion of any inappropriate sexual behaviour from Mr Bendtner at the nightclub.

"The sky is falling, the sky is falling"

Drunk man shows pants-hardly the Jamie Bulger murder is it?

I bet ASEF sits there all night waiting all night for the next story of a misbehaving football player, and then jizzes all over his keyboard as he types words such as 'outrage' and 'disgraceful'. I bet he had a semi whilst pasting the pictures.

I bet I get a warning for this.
