Tough one, but i will pick Bellamy over Nelsen.

Third will be Reid. He's becoming better.

Why i didnt pick MGP:- He's still an exciting player and a vital player. But he needs to push himself in every game he plays. Some games he just fizzles out easily while some games he explodes into life. Needs to be consistent.

Thought about this the other day:

For me its Nelson because he's been class all season.

However if Bellamy had played more games it would prob have been him. I think it would be unfair on Nelson if someone were judged to have been better than him this year.

I am really torn with this one.

Bellers has been brilliant and I have always thought he was a top player before he came to us. I would vote for him if I thought it would help keep him at Ewood, but alas my vote will make not one jot of difference on that score.

Brad has made saves that he had no business making, that have kept us in some games, enabling us to go on and win. I would vote for him purely on the fact that I have always had a soft spot for him, and that he has committed himself to us for the rest of his carrer.

I would vote for Reid on the strength that he is probably our most improved player since last season.

But my vote must go to Admiral Nelsen. He has simply been a colossus in the centre of the back four, and I am pretty sure that Sven must have been checking through the Admiral's family history to find a valid reason to have him wearing the three lions instead of that Manc prat Ja Ja Binks.

Voted for Bellers simply becasue his goals have provided me with such joy this season, he is a cut above the rest. but Nelsen, Neill, Reid and Brad aren't too far behind in my opinion as they have all played really really well this campaign.

I have gone for Bellas for this season. Although the Admiral is a very close second with Friedal third.

he (bellas) has really shined under Hughes and has added another dimension to the way Blackburn are now viewed by the press. Remember last season when we were the bully boys of the league, and now we are impressing everyone with our silky attacking play. Bellas has given the bit of class which was lacking in our forwards last season.

Nelson though has been the rock in our defence and what a bargin he has proved to be. Best value for money purchase rovers have made in a long while.

i wonder what other bargins from the MLS we can get. Maybe Freddie Adu!!!!

Nelsen for me. He has missed very few matches and has been consistently good and reliable in every one of them. He should be the first choice for captain in my opinion. Running him very close I had Bellamy because of what his games played have meant to Rovers this year, and then in joint third and also very close to top two I have Neil, Friedal, MGP, and Reid. Others worthy of mention are Gray, Savage, and Tugay.

I'm torn between so many players this year... Todd's been excellent when in the team, Nelsen's been awesome - with the exception of Carragher I've not seen a better defender this year, Bellamy's been world class on occassions, Friedel's been back to his best, Reid's been brilliant in midfield, while Savage has been the driving force behind most of our play...

... might have to wait till the end of the season before I call this one. rover.gif

A season in the premiership is a long one, so I am looking for that player that performs day in and day out. Nelsen for me has been the linchpin that held it all. He is just a solid, solid player. I think who you pick for player of the season rests on what you as a fan appreciates more and that's either the unglorified defender that quietly gets it done or that bit of flash that gives us those beer spilling, total euphoric moments.

We talk of how Bellamy would be a prize selection for any team in the league but I wonder if most managers would rather have Nelsen playing for them.

Neill has too many stupid moments for my liking and Reid doesn't impress me much at all.

When are we having our most disappointing Rovers player poll?

Can I just add Emerton to that right now?

I agree emerton was disappointing. He came to us with a reputation as a skillful player from Feyenoord. If I'm not wrong there's even a couple of big clubs fighting for his signature. Although he score on his debut i find him a bit error prone and haven't really proof his talent.

Tough choice but Nelsen it is for his consitency. Always there and always solid. Bellamy's been spectacular but missed too many games through injury to have had the same effect as Nelsen while mentions must also go to Reid and Neill for improving so much and Friedel for producing the same quality as always.

Nelsen deserves the award someday. I thought it was a bit harsh for him to lose it last season, being what I saw as the main player who turned it all around, but then again you can't exactly give someone the award for half a season.

It's Bellamy all the way for me this season, though, even though he has missed quite a few games due to injury. He has been the difference from us being mid-table and being safe European contenders. He's also a joy to watch. There aren't that many other strikers who are as enjoyable to watch.
