Final Push For Europe

This next week will be make or break for Rovers season if they are to qualify for Europe. With 2 home games left, Chelsea on Tuesday and Man City a week tomorrow, Rovers travel to The Valley today for their last away game of the season.

With Newcastle and Bolton sitting on their shoulder, if Rovers are to have any chance of qualifying for Europe they need to beat Charlton this afternoon and Man City next Sunday, plus hopefully a draw against Chelsea on Tuesday.

With the exception of the injured Andy Todd, Matteo and Gresco, Mark Hughes has a full squad to choose from, now that Tugay has recovered from injury, plus Paul Gallagher who has been recalled from his season long loan spell at Stoke, where he was their top scorer.

Whoever plays this afternoon, will have to be up for it, an attitude of just turning up will not be sufficient if the club has any chance of European football next season. A win today would set the scene for an exciting night at Ewood on Tuesday against Chelsea, before the final game at Ewood next Sunday against City.
