Curbishley is bad news for West Ham imo.

The guy has proven himself as a decent enough manager but whenever it came to moving on from 'decent' to 'excellent' his team always choked. Charlton fans were at the end of their collective tether with the regularity with which their seasons in the Premiership capitulated whenever they got within a sniff of UEFA footy. And their cup form was pretty dire.

Curbs is perfect for a low-profile club with small ambitions and a large capacity for appreciation.

West Ham fans will be expecting too much. Curbs will fail at West Ham. You heard it here...

And Sturrock is a genius. Curbishly did great at Charlton with limited resources, look at where they are now. This is not a club that should have spent that long in the top flight while he was there, considering resources and personnel. Right now you have an underperforming team who has hired a manager that gets the most out of his players.

There was a report in the papers last week about a well know person who had been having an affair getting a gagging order to stop the husband of the woman involved from selling the story to the papers.

Something similar is happening over here at the moment...Bill Belichek, Head Coach of the NFL's New England Patriots was named as the 'third' man in a highly publized divorce in the State of New Jersey. Apparently, he'd known the woman since before she was married and they'd been having fertive daliances for a number of years, over a decade if the news articles are accurate.

Yea, that Belichek, that well dressed slob that roams the sidelines in torn clothing! Perhaps American can provide more details as he must live w/ this stuff on a daily basis.

In Rover 6s defence when Curbishley did have money to spend, like when he got 10 million for Parker, he didn't set the world alight. It will be interesting to see how he handles the Icelandic millions and a genuine global superstar in Tevez.

Management is a strange game, there are some born winners I suppose - Ferguson, Mourinho, Clough etc. - and then for the rest it's more of a mixed bag perhaps. It is really hard to sit down and say 'so and so' is definately a better manager than 'so and so'. So many factors are involved - injuries, size and pulling power of the club for players, transfer funds, boardroom stability, quality of the inherited sqaud. You really can't judge till they have a year in the job at least.
