ABBEY
Yesterday, 17:44 ..quote stu wilky *****Secondly, Blackburn Rovers Commercial Department - Yet again a group of Sheffield United fans in Box 1 of the Blackburn End, after the debacles of three previous occasions this season it appears reuthfully the case that the corporate morons are more important than the casual fan. Swilling lager from bottles, offensive gestures, gloating, moronic comments - all whilst the stewards who were "dealing with it" were in there. Heads must roll for this continued farce****** Is the rovers only interest in money money money.???? The box that stu mentioned last year was the players/wags box and they moved onto pastures new and the so useof this box now is for awayfans.Yesterday was the potentiol for a riot ,if rovers fans had climbed thru the open window in the boxes and kicked off it would have been alls the scruffy pikeys deserverd.I for one dont pay my season ticket money to have away fans banging on the windows at us calling us wankus and other such stuff every week. The team leader hahahahahaha ,was as harry potter without a wand.He was totally clueless and the people in the boxes who let the scruffy ones in should be made to answer ,unless im wrong isnyt the boxes a shirt and tie affair and not recue mes from the skips of primark and matalan. The ones in the boxes were left to wind the people in front of them especially Baldrick ,they swigged bottles of ale ,they smoked and sod all was done . MIND YOU IT WAS SWEET AFTER THE MGP GOAL.

thenodrog
MIND YOU IT WAS SWEET AFTER THE MGP GOAL. And there's the rub! C'mon guys I remember the days when the away fans were standing in groups in all parts of the ground! Now that WAS different and an experience which many of our 'oh so indignant ladies' might find of value nowadays. Certainly taught one to mind ones p's and q's. SIMON GARNERS 194
Putting away fans in the most partisan home section is asking for trouble.Even worse when the idiots try to provoke the home fans.

Wolverine
Abbey - complain to John Newsham - he is in charge of safety at Ewood park and is effectively the boss of each and every steward in the ground. Be warned though - he sees himself as a big fish in a big pond and loves the power trip... Maby BRISA should bring this up in one of thier meetings? thenodrog
did you ever have the protection of a large glass screen Gordo? I know I never did. Nope the only options were your wits or your fists. I like to think that I employed the former.
Ray-Von
I saw an escort of about 100 of the Yorkshire puddings down Bolton Road (presumably to the station) after the game. One of them was intent on walking on his own down the middle of Bolton Road. He quickly moved back into the escort when the coppers got a couple of the "feisty" alsatians from the back of the van! FourLaneBlue
Why for the corporate boxes don't they just change the glass so you can look out but the fans can't see in? Would stop them trying to wind up fans with hand gestures etc

Jan
This is the only game EVER that I have been verbally abused walking past opposition fans. I park my car in car park D and have to go that way. I got him arrested. I enjoyed that.

adopted scouser
anybody see the trouble after the final whistle? blades charged into the blackburn gate and the police slowly walked up and shut the steal gates, trapping blades in the blackburn stand? p.s what fantstic support! Should have shut the gates to everyone leaving the riverside before the end of the game. Embarrassing watching football first late last night (couldn't go - working late). P.S. Anyone spot the irony in the quote ?
Al
It's amazing that a Sheffield supporter can't spell 'steel'. Can't resist a swipe at the Riverside can you AS? They are all supporters too you know.
Cocker
I saw that (not the incedent but the police and stewards going over. I was in the Jack Walker and at the end of the game there was a massive rush of stewards and some police heading towards the Darwen end - they wernt walking either. One thing I will say about the stewards is that one lad had it in for me all game - he watched me throughout. The Mrs took her camera out (just video not camera flash) and he was straight over with hand accross it saying to put it away. I was on the Front row of the Jack Walker and when Gamst scored the second and came over I jumped up and ran over - again steward with hand in my face tells me to be quiet and go and sit down - what a plank
