Finch
They don't seem to get much of a mention on here, do they? The achievements of the Rovers Ladies team in getting to the top women's division have gone mostly unnoticed on here. It's a mostly male forum so any interest is going to be typically male-oriented (see above). As a female member of the board, however, I have been following the results of the ladies team and have been delighted with how they are doing, particulaly since just a few seasons ago they were in the 3rd tier of women's football. Hopefully they can stay in the top flight (this is their first season) and become one of the more established teams. And, of course, many congratulations to our women's team for retaining this regional cup.
John Howarth
Well done to Rovers Ladies for retaining the Lancs Challenge Cup for the fourth consecutive year. They don't seem to get much of a mention on here, do they? The game was quite entertaining despite the fact the Curzon Ashton play a league below the Premier league. The Rovers ladies did not take the game lightly but were convincing winners watched by a decent sized crowd at the LFA headquarters. After a recent change of management , they should now retain their Permiership status. However, last week they did lose the services of their England international Amanda Barr who moved to Leeds following her 84 day ban, following the recent Chelsea fracas. Ronin
Always good to see the Rovers doing well at all levels. Congrats to the Ladies.

Didn't we only sign Barr last season? Is the "Chelsea fracas" the reason she went to Leeds?
philipl
Seeing this has popped up as a topic, I'll ask the questions: - what really happened at the Chelsea fracas? - were any board members there? - why was the Manager fired and what happened to the team revolt to get him reinstated? - the previous Manager was only young yet he had a tremendous track record of achievement; what made him so good? - how have Rovers manged to produce such a good ladies team? The Chelsea fracas seems to have been the most dramatic event involving any Rovers team in seasons. Incidentally, if we think the men's game is big 4 dominated, try reading the BBC's women's football coverage and see if you can see a sentence without the word arsenal in it. roversmum
You guys need to grow up. So you don't like ladies' football? No-one is asking you to; but they do wear blue and white shirts and bear the name of Blackburn Rovers so I would have thought it would have occurred to your seemingly somewhat small minds to support them. Anti-Dingle-Brigade
I believe they won 2-1 against Leeds Ladies last night, it seems like it was a shock (I'm not really sure which teams are good and which teams are not in the Womans FL), so if it was, looks like they are through to another round of the FA Cup! (At least I think it was the FA Cup )
Sparky Marky
Why are the goalies so carp in womens football...? Whenever I've seen it there's always goals where the cross comes in and goes right over the goalie into the net....It really is poor fayre....They should stick to ironing...However, that England ladies left back is very sexy...Her surname is Unitt....Phwoar...Bit like Nel Mcandrew.
