Devine Intervention For Hammers

A bizarre decision by Assistant Referee Jim Devine gave West Ham the 3 points today at Ewood.

Chris Samba opened the scoring for Blackburn with a powerful header from a corner - his first goal for the club. West Ham were then awarded a controversial penalty after Carlos Tevez fell in the box when challenged by Brett Emerton. Tevez made no mistake from the spot.

Bobby Zamora "scored" the winner shortly after when his shot was adjudged by the assistant referee to have crossed the line. However, TV replays showed that the ball was blocked on the line by Tevez, who was standing in an off-side position.
