, I half expected a Cantona-esque speech involving seagulls (or swans and geese perhaps?).

....or even a farewell flying kung-fu kick aimed at the BBE drummer <_<

Second half came, big Chris Samba nearly made it two, hitting the crossbar and predictably we paid the price. Tiny little miniscule Jermaine Defoe (3ft 4”) scoring after running through Sambas legs. Defoe nearly lost an eye but played on.

 My favourite bit. Personally I find your reviews to be the highlight of the site, and I hope that you'll at least do the occasional review, even though I can understand why you don't want to do it every month.

I reckon Mr Fleming writes some of the funniest articles ever seen on this site. His sense of humour is great.

Thanks Bob, it must have been hard work at times. If ever you fancy doing something else, then just give us a call. A guest appearance now and agin would be more than welcome.

Thanks for doing all the reviews.

Marvellous sense of humour Bob! I will really, really miss your monthly reviews and my once a month roll on the study carpet. (No, not what you're thinking! The very idea at my age. There is not enough Viagra in the local chemists shop for that).

I fully understand your reasons Bob; quit while you're ahead is right. It must get very difficult after such a long stint to keep up the unbelievably high standard of humour and entertainment that we have all enjoyed for so long. You have a well earned rest and let's see what someone else can do for a while. Like others have said already; maybe the odd "guest appearance" from time to time. Thanks again Bob.

So you quit on the top of your game. I think it is a good career move, personally. Fuddy duddy nostalgia will surely mythologise your legacy. Future generations will credit you for such feats as slaying Burnley and saving zebras in distress. They might even make a movie. The height of your income will be when you can't spend any of it.

Thanks for all the memories.

Such is the fate of all top artists.
