This one is evens on all three results.

I do expect Yakubu and Fernandes will be making their debut against us.

Both goals conceded so far by Rovers have been bad defensive mistakes- cannot afford that at Goodison. Have a hunch that Ooijer/Samba at Centre backs might work very well.

Well done Cocker. Not impressed by his views on Warnock, but I presume it's more to do with his own dislike for the other half of Merseyside. Warnock is a quality player and has been hugely impressive from last season.

2-2

Warnock, Benni.

For bragging rights alone I would love a win in the tin can, but my heart says a draw. (I'll try and kick Andy Johnson next time I see him).

And kick that fecker Ferguson as well if you see him in your neighbouring city. Love the video. Pure quality.

My team:

--------------Roque--McCarthy

Pedersen----Dunn----------Bentley

-------------------------Axe

--Warnock--Samba--Ooijer--Emerton

-------------------Freidal

Subs: Brown, Zurab, Savage, Derbyshire, Roberts

I am a huge fan of Savage, but I think he is getting off the pace and doesn't work too well with Dunn. Mokoena and Dunn seem to gel much better together imo, providing more balance between attack and defence. Certainly once Reid gets back Savages days as a regular could be numbered mainly due to his age and his game primarily being fitness based.

Dunn is showing some quality, and it is good that he has got a goal now. If we can get the attacking triumvate of Dunn, Pedersen and Bentley to play well then not many teams will be able to hold us.

Anyhow, I fear we will concede a couple without the admiral at Goodison. Everton are a top side who work very hard for each other. A draw would be a very good result but I think we will be up against it.

Everton have completed their fourth signing of the summer, drafting in experienced German goalkeeper Stefan Wessels.

The 28-year-old keeper arrives at Goodison on a free after leaving FC Cologne.

Not that he'll play against us, but anyhow.

And there's a rumour that Johnson has injured in training for England. If that's true and Yakubu deal is off and they don't sign anyone (Vagner Love?) before the game, I guess their attacking options look quite slim (Anichebe, McFadden).

i think everton are the most overrated team in the premiership!!! yes they are hard to play against and it will be a very tough game at everton!!! but would you really notice if they werent in the premiership?? they have a few good players such as arteta (dives a hell of a lot though) i dont particually rate johnson! and i think the comment from the everton fan about santa cruz is slightly harsh!! ohh we will win 2-1 mccarthy, santa cruz and a arteta/stubbs free kick for them!! :rover:

I think we are in for a tough game. Will be an interesting test for us.

Would probably take a draw but I do think we will lose, as Everton (with a strong crowd) can be difficult to stop at home. They work extremely hard as Moyes does not accept anything else, but also have some flair & pace in the team.

I think this match will be a battle of Set Pieces. They seem strong on the offensive set-pieces and weak on defending them. The same could be said of us (when our Gamst and Bentley's are actually putting in quality balls), so the difference probably will come from a set Piece one way or the other. I'd fancy another 4-1 romp but I doubt we can smuggle those FA Cup footy balls into the match. :D

I think in open play our respective defenders and keepers are top-notch and even without Nelsen we should be able to cope with whoever Moyes throws up front. And if AJ does start against us all Samba has to do is take notes on how Bikey was playing AJ last weekend to effectively shut him down. If mikky Arteta's touch is a bit off like it was last week, we should do fine. However if he reverts back to the maestro we all know he can be we might be in for a long afternoon...

the bottom line is if we want to challenge at the top, we need to be doing the business here!!!!

everton are no mugs even though they are from scouseland but i bet they are ###### themselves with the violence coming down saturday afternoon.

we need more belief, we have a well tidy side this season which can challenge :)

maybe bar arteta, i wouldn't take any other player from everton over our players.

the toffees are in for a hiding this weekend lads!!!!

and i think the comment from the everton fan about santa cruz is slightly harsh!!

To be fair to my Everton buddy, we put this together before a ball had been kicked and he (like most of us on here) was looking at his previous record together with his injuries so I would have to agree with him to that point. On seeing Santa play for us though I think that Hughes has made another good buy.

Will have to ask my mate if his opinion on him has changed (though after only a few games I doubt it because its still early doors)

Will be in the lakes Saturday - Bowness/ Windermere

Any other Rovers knocking about not going to the game - also maybe any of our Cumbrian friends could advise of anywhere that might be showing the game since the Sports bar burnt down?
