AussieinUk
Isaac Hayes has passed away aged 65. Most will remember him as the voice as chef in South Park, but for me it has to be his hits - 'Hold On I'm Coming' and 'Soul Man'. A self-taught musician on pianio and sax. He worked with Otis Redding and many pthers. A family member found him unresponsive near a treadmill and he was pronounced dead an hour later. The cause of death is not known. RIP Isaac. (I would like to attach a photo, but being a luddite - I can't)

Presty On Tour
Very, very sad news indeed. I'm a massive South Park fan and Chef is an absolute legend! This really is tragic, RIP.

BiggusLaddus
I think he was best known for theme from Shaft. And for spitting his dummy out and quitting South Park after they did the scientology episode.
Ozz
Isaac was 65 when he passed away. I am 42 now, so his death age is nearer to me now than my school leaving age. A sobering thought I'm sure you would agree.
American
Most will remember him as the voice as chef in South Park, but for me it has to be his hits - 'Hold On I'm Coming' and 'Soul Man'. That was Sam and Dave. Walk on By sung by him, written by Burt Bacharack (sp?) is on my top 100 of all time. Really had a silky smooth voice. AussieinUk
That was Sam and Dave. You are correct American- he didn't sing them, but he did write them with Davd Porter.
Claytons Left Boot
Isaac was 65 when he passed away. I am 42 now, so his death age is nearer to me now than my school leaving age. A sobering thought I'm sure you would agree. I'm 50 now and my dad passed away at 52 - now THAT is a sobering (and worrying) thought.
Ninjathunder
The Shaft soundtrack album was what we used to play with friends whilst having a round of PGA Tour Golf II on the Megadrive and a bottle of cheap cider back in the early 90s. It's a belter of an album. RIP
