Did Sparky EVER bring home 3 points from Upton Park?

Nope and he also didn't always prioritise our teams weaknesses in the transfer market like has been suggested further up. We have not had a competent ball winner in midfield since Savage broke his leg and we've needed a right back since before Neill left (when he was played at left back for half a season). Ince should be applauded for finally doing something about it.

The lack of creativity from the centre and a player who gets beyond the strikers has been missing for even longer than that (since Dunn left?).

Yes we need a right winger bringing in and hopefully it will happen today. If not then this window will have been a bit of a failure, but no more so than the last few under Mark Hughes.

Effing hell, the last few posts have been insane. So we're going down now. Hold on, why don't we sack Ince and hire BFS and an effing chriropractor whilst we still can? And whilst we're at it, sell the entire squad and blame Ince for everything. IT IS AUGUST YOU SACK OF ____S. WE MAY STILL GET A WINGER YET, AND HAVE PRACTICALLY A WHOLE SEASON LEFT. AND SOME ARE ALREADY SAYING WE'RE GOING DOWN ?!!!

Whats Ince done hes just brought in alot of mediocrity with the possible exception of Carlos on which all our hopes are resting on. The little Chilean has all of the club ambitions resting on his shoulders, what a big ask.

I think what they are implying is from what they have seen is its been downward moves made by the club over the summer that has taken any confidence they had in Rovers chances away for the coming season.

Time will tell on that. Grella might be exactly what we've been missing once he's up to speed and Andrews looked better than those around him on saturday. If they flop we can blame Ince for it, if they succeed he will deserve praise.

Until that happens can we not just give him the benefit of the doubt? Even a bit of neutrality would be nice.

Mediocrity? You base this on what THREE games?

Robinson will become a top goal keeper, once people like your good self put the daggers down and dont instantly jump on his back for an error.

Simpson has not played a game yet- but is highly rated by Mancs and SAF.

Grella has played 45 minutes and arrives after spending 10 years in a league which is reknowned for defensive midfield players.

Bunn- Rated as one of the best goal keepers outside the premier league.

Andrews- has already shown glimpses of what he is capable of, technically looks better than Reid already!

Ince has also given Treacy a chance, this is the equivalent of a new signing in my eyes as this has put pressure on MGP and he can play left back.

The little Chilean is an exciting player. I would suggest looking at Hughes' signings and finding ONE that was exciting because I cannot remember one, they were all either complete unknowns or people with massive question marks.

We are playing attractive football or at least attempting it for the first time in years, the dross that I saw last year was dire. Ince is giving youth a chance something Hughes never did, instead plumping for bleeding Berner for crying out loud instead of Olsson.

You over estimate the players imy9, admire your positivity though keep the faith but i'll deal with the reality of the situation thanks JAL.

Doom and gloom after a bad result no surprises there. :D

Dont think many on here know exactly who or what type of player PI needs. But I can see people saying this signing is useless, that player we should be signing..

He only starts accessing/building his team his style of football for what 1mth? I'm glad he's not splashing our money like woy did and only pick up his players at the right price (Sounds like JW policy B) ). So I suggest we sit back abit and let the events unveil.

Like I said not many know how he's going to deploy his tactics yet. From what I see and my view is that we've only seen half of it and slowly we'll see a formation like 4231 being introduce on away or tough matches or prominently being use. His signings seem to be moving that way. From the knowledge I get from his time at MK Dons, He's operating a 23-24man squad instead of Hughes 16-17man with each position having at least 2 able players. Pros and Cons having a big squad of course as all know. Hence we will see some less glamour players that he sign operating at positions but able to do a job when task or give the first team player a run for their money(a good aspect to me to keep all on toes).

No enough time like meaningless Int Friendlies midweek, sickness/injuries to Carlos and Dunn might be hindering the preparation for the new formation.

Its a different ball game and takes time to click. Liverpool been using whole of last season but still couldnt make it work.

Its will be delightful to watch if you get the right ingredients in and I'm confident Ince can deliver it.

On signings, Paul Ince like his width to have pace. I think he tried to give Brett on that right wing role but sad to say on first indication I saw Brett Mk 1 more than Mk 4. Disappoint me abit as I thought he can nail that position. I'll put him back to Mk 2 and need to find a new man. Out of the shortlist from nicko I hope to see Pennant there apart from his attitude problem. He'll do a good job with us with his pace and trickery. I would like to see a backup leftback too after today.

In conclusion, Love or hate him now we got to give Ince the support. Make no sense to me by slating every action or move by him, he is the MANager appointed at our beloved club by JW for a good reason. The reason is he possess the football knowledge and management ways with good CV achievements, that none of the other candidates could match the requirements to be a successful Blackburn FC manager competing in a league on a non-levelled field. :rover:

If the club do not bring in a good right winger and I'm forced to watch Brett Eerton play right wing again, I'm not sure I'll be able to contain my anger the next time I'm watching Rovers play.

Don't watch them then - you know it makes sense! Take responsibility for your own actions, don't be a victim and blame everyone else. Go buy a stress ball, wear sandals, listen to some Gregorian chants & windchimes, relax man :D

Billy, how right you are!

The thing that makes me laugh is that we've never had a consistantly good winger SINCE Duff and then we ONLY had the ONE Winger!

Bentley showed up for PART of the last 2 seasons, MGP hasn't and all the "Sergio" fanatics have moved to Treacy (Funny that?)

However, pauses to check glass... Confirm's is half full:

Bentley was gone last year, we got a good deal for him, get over it.

2 decent loan signings, I think they will both deliver this season TBH, I'm happy with both of them.

If some of the "Relegated in August" brigade were at the Grimbsy match they wouldn't be rating a player purely on his country of origin, FFS, I mean, who thought Paraguay were a world force until Santa showed up here???!!

Santa has stayed (Manager & Chairman responsible for this, otherwise he'd have been history)

We're frail at the back (Honestly, Since WHEN has this NOT been the case??!!!)

Defensive Mid, Question, All of the Axe haters? Did we need one Y or N? Answer: Y, so you've got a proven one who has yet to train with the team etc. Stop moaning!

Keeper: Again, I think Brad got an offer of a lifetime and took it, fair play to him, always going to be hard to replace him as he was a legend, however, I think that Robinson was a snip and will re find his form. Why can't he get his England place back? Anyone see James's performance at the weekend? That's why, still Fabio picked him in the squad, why was that? Is it because he's the 2nd best England keeper? Yes.

Right Mid: They are looking for one, hopefully we'll get one, but you moaners won't be happy unless he's Brazilian, so the manager can't win anyway.

Anyone from the "Lower leagues" or "Unproven" isn't good enough, I personally think that the Andrew's haters will eat their words, and those not wearing their PL spectatcles may find that we have another quality keeper in the background, time will tell as they say, but August is a bit premature to be giving a negative verdict IMHO.

All our business can't be done before the window, some will happen in January, I expect, even Chelski & United have to sweat?! So do we.

One final summary for me, we are Blackburn Rovers i.e. A town club, we do not have the money or the lure of some of the other clubs, it's a fact!

I don't belittle us or even disrespect us, I'm very proud to have been a season ticket holder in the BBE Lower for too long to remember!

However, I have my feet on the deck, we can't afford some of the people other clubs sign or some of the one's we have been linked with, simple as, when the bubble bursts and after we have a couple more Leeds Uniteds, things may change, until then, we live in the real world.

We have to trust the chairman and we have the trust the manager, I don't like some of things that appear to be going on, but on the whole most things are mostly positive and all we should be asking as supporters is back who we have, whilst they wear their colours and respectfully ask people to "Not panic" until at least December.

Don't be too surprised if we end up in a thick relegation battle. Appointing Ince as Hughes's replacement was never going to be a good idea and now we shall see one absolute horrible season unfold while the likes Man City and Aston Villa go from strength to strength and may even challenge the top 4.

RIP blackburn rovers.

Do you ever wish yourself back to the school disco when you kissed the class hottie (probably by catching her unawares when she was out of her head on dandelion & burdock)?

Often wonder how life could have turned out when you're chained to some Martha Dumptruck who smokes & farts in bed, bullies you & spends all your money?

Tempus fugit = 'time flies' hey?

So many negative people, so much reticence. B)

I'd suggest they must be 'typical Rovers fans' then....

1) Always happier when they're moaning;

2) Have to get the dictionary out to research 'confidence';

3) Have an unerring ability to find (and emphasise) a negative in any situation;

4) Are always to hasty to expound their perception & judgement on things, only to go AWOL when the converse happens;

Jeez. It's not just you apparently, Jan. The world is full of miserable, besserwisser, knee jerking, doom merchants who are unwilling to give the new management a chance.

Sorry if that's a bit harsh but it's really too early to be pushing the panic button already.

Agreed - I often wonder if there is any singular thing that contents them, much less makes them happy. :D Wish good luck to them, clearly they've not found it.

Then again, maybe it's us in the minority and we're the lunatics?

Never mind a multi-faith room, think we need a group therapy room. Let's get Billy Graham on at half time; either that or the Scientologists. I'm certain there's a cult hidden amongst Rovers 'fans'......

Thats the duty of the club to erase all the negativity with results and performances, what a pleasure it was watching the game against Grimsby mid week then we come back to the premiership game and we are a 'mixed bag'.

Fully understand and sympathise with Ince and the new management team in that they need time to work things out, Samba and Warnock have not done themselves any favours maybe Ince can improve them or just drop them who knows but they are one of many problems he faces.

I'm fully behind Rovers but it shouldnt stop anyone from posting a criticism that they may feel they are justified in making if they feel something isnt quite right.

I'm praying come midnight Rovers offload MaCarthy and we sign Pennant heres to wishful thinking - come on Rovers

When Rovers are down the team always comes back stronger.

Watching MOTD2 last night and something really hit home about our complete lack of technical quality; just look at who our set piece takers were:

Penalties: Roberts

Free Kicks: Reid

Appalling for the level we should be at, really.

I made the comment in the West Ham thread, Reid's corners are woeful.

A right back and a creative midfielder.

Right now we need

A right back, a creative midfielder capable of playing NOW and a right winger.

We have bought defensive midfielders by the pound and a new "goalkeeper" who got a round of applause when he finally got close enough to a cross to catch it. Oh and a right back who is supposedly a specialist in the position but can't dislodge an out of position centre half.

Meanwhile we're back to Bert Mark 1 (headless chicken incapable of passing) or Stephen Reid (who looks like the player who joined us- this is not a compliment) as "this week's lucky midflield loser" on the right wing.

It's the Duff sale all over again.

It's not just you Jan. You're spot on.

We should have got Pedro Mendes. Good player, eh? ;)

Is it that they can't see it or that SWP wouldn't touch us with a barge pole because we're not as "glamorous" as the teams like City who can be rubbish for ever but still somehow manage to be loved by the press and therefore by thick footballers who don't have their own ideas and just follow "public opinion" whatever that may be?

er...the management can't see it!
