Billy Castell Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Not sure, isn't he injury prone, old and a bit tempramental? He was a good player in his prime though. May be worth a punt if the wages are OK.
sharptommy Posted August 31, 2008 Author Posted August 31, 2008 as long as he's better than javier de pedro i dont mind
AussieinUk Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Didn't we get a similar thread to this, removed/merged just yesterday? I also thought Nicko shot this rumour down as agent talk only? C'mon guys - Lets keep it to the 'transfer links' and Nickos thread' as the server has enough problems already.
American Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Actually, we were asked to move player discussion away from Nicko's thread and into their own separate threads.
Stuart Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Is it only me who sees his record as similar to that of a certain Mr. Fowler? Fantastic about 10 years ago and gradually fallen away in recent years. Funny how people start salivating when we look to sign 'high-profile' foreign has-beens when we haven't seen their recent form close up, yet high-profile British 'has-beens' are slated. (Not that I'm advocating we should sign Fowler by the way!)

hawaii501 Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 I can remember him being fantastic a few years ago but he has spent the last year on the treatment table so I'd get him on pay as you play
Paulo Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 I can remember him being fantastic a few years ago but he has spent the last year on the treatment table so I'd get him on pay as you play Santa Cruz spent his life on a treatment table, he didn't get a pay as you play deal. We got slim chance of getting Recoba, with out offering him an insulting contract.
hawaii501 Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 hes getting on now is the lad and if he wants to continue to play football then he will have to make a sacrifice to prove himself also Roque spent time on the BENCH @ Bayern Munich not the treatment table and theres 6 years difference age wise between them
Paulo Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 hes getting on now is the lad and if he wants to continue to play football then he will have to make a sacrifice to prove himself also Roque spent time on the BENCH @ Bayern Munich not the treatment table and theres 6 years difference age wise between them It's not like he's Robbie Fowler who lives down the road. To come into a foreign country on a pay as you play deal is not going to happen for someone like Recoba.
hawaii501 Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 you never know in football, but either way Ince needs to see this guy up close to sign him. Trial maybe. We can't afford to be paying players big wages to sit on the treatment table. Depends on how much he wants it
dingles staying down 4ever Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 It depends on how serious his agent is about him wanting to play in England. If he is desperate to try English football then he would come on trial and prove his worth of a short term contract. I suspect his agent is just trying to get his player onto the gravy boat and he wants loads of dosh for not a lot without trying to earn it! Sounds like he is ideal for City.
