I was going to make a topic, then I realised there's loads of Dingles floating around on here recently so and I don't want to give them ammunition about being stuck in the past.

Just watched the full game again courtesy of LFC TV, what a nail-biting finish!

For a town the size of Blackburn, it is a great honour to be only 1 of 4 clubs to have won the trophy.

There's only ONE Jack Walker!

Remeber him bringing the trophy up the stairs in Anfield, he was shattered after that climb

Legend!

That long already!

Must say though I know every time I mention our very proud achievement, as I will do many times next week to the legions of Liverpool supporting twits round here, I am always met with the "Yeah but you bought the title" line.

The other amazing achievement at that time was how the press/TV single handedly managed to brain wash an entire population with the "Rovers bought the title" crap and totally belittle our title win to the level of a "blip" in the league they were trying to, and have finally, manufactured into the most predictable, boring, expensive (how ironic!), generic, fickle-supporter-loving, corrupt, money-printing-machine that it is today.

I actually now look back on 14/5/95 with a tinge of sadness, we should have gone on to upset the apple cart more but then got relegated 3 years later and allowed the forces of money making mediocrity to cement their position. Look at that '95 table!!! Forest third, Leeds fifth - where are they now?! Wimbledon, they don't even exist anymore, shared a ground with relegated Palace, Norwich - the Rovers of the midlands, relegated, Southampton - now in administration.

We are perhaps the only team that punches above its weight that is still here. Others just yo-yo between the Prem and Champonship. Remember in '95 when we could pronounce both teams players names easily? The cracking goals, all teams getting a fair go on MoTD, also in Shoot, Match, 4-4-2, etc, refs making shockingly bad decisions every 20 games (GERALD ASHBY!) not every game, tackles that didn't result in cards, no Ronaldo-like diving, even Klinsmann didn't act like a wet blouse when he got kicked, in fact the only violence was Cantona at Palace, teams had and spent money relative to each other - 1 or 2m here, 3 or 4m for a "big" player ...I look at what we have now and what the PL has become with a heavy heart, especially as it will only get worse. Still at least we won it when the league was at its best!

Acknowledged by most honest football fans as one of,if not THE most exciting Premierleague season ever.....little 'old Rovers taking on and beating the mean Red machine.

I'm afraid now it has become nothing more than a farse where only the biggest clubs can compete for the honour.

NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN(Except in Burnley!)
