Exiled_Rover
You'd think so at first glnce, but the hobnob thing marks him down as pure unadulterated filth. That kind of humour makes me miss the swan or a goose thread.

brfc4ever
Lars just told Danish TV (Kanal 5) that he's leaving Rovers. Prob. in this window. And that is why he's not in the lineup today.

He's an average squad player who never plays.
Balwer
At his age I can see why he'd want to go. Hopefully this will give League Cup game experience to the young right back, Jackson Ramm possibly?

We need to get non starters off the wage bill, so will help both parties.

Balwer
It will help Lars. I'm know I'm Danish and biased, but i think Lars is a better player than Chimbonda Probably true, but Chimbonda can also play on the left, and in a small squad on a budget the backups need to be versatile. T4E
I'm not Danish and I know Lars is better than Chimbo. Bet he's on a much lesser wage too.
Amo
Jacobsen is a steadier player than Chimbonda. One of them has to go, and we can't shift Chimbonda.

I'm not Danish and I know Lars is better than Chimbo. Bet he's on a much lesser wage too. Agree with both of these posts. Jacobsen is better - in fact I didn't think he's done much wrong during his time at rovers, but versatility, plus higher wages (making him harder to shift) means Chimbonda will stay with us. Also chimbonda offers more going forwards, which in our current formation might also see him looked on as the more favourable option. Have to say am very disappointed with Chimbonda - I know he's a mercenary, but thought he'd put in a shift for more than half a dozen games. Hughesy
Good luck to him if true - hopefully a fee comes our way too! Steady defender, but not needed.
roversfan99
I like him, never lets us down and id be a bit disappointed if he went and Chimbonda stayed, but not too worried.
Ricky
I think he's a far better player than chimbonda and I'd like to think that if we had bids in for both we'd sell chimbonda. However we can only sell players if we have buyers. Hopefully we'll get a fee for him as he had an ok world cup and I think he played every game as well. £1m added to the transfer budget would be very handy right now so hopefully we can get that for him. His last three transfers have been on free, and the clubs that would be interested in him won't be even our size, so I would be surprised if we got any fee from him, yet alone £1M. IIRC he was out of contract at Everton. The fact that he has one here - even if only one year left ought to mean a fee if only small. I'd sooner keep him anyway so I'd only let him go if we were going to get a fee otherwise what's the point? It's all well and good freeing up space on the wage bill but unless you have a decent freebie lined up we can't afford to replace him.

We have about four players who can cover that position.

I would imagine the only reason we're looking to get rid of him is to free up the space in the wage bill. We really don't need a specialist fifth choice right-back to sit on the stands when we could promote someone like Ramm instead. And as we're advocating for his transfer, much like Roberts or Zurab, the "buyer" holds all the aces and we'll be lucky to get rid without paying them to leave. I'm not talking about replacing him with a right back. Replacing him on the wage bill with someone who can improve the squad. As we can't seem to do that, it's not worth letting him go on a free. Which was the original point I was responding to.

Jacobsen does absolutely nothing to improve our squad. So whilst it would be a bonus if the wage saving allowed us to bring in a player who would actually feature, there would be no loss in letting him go. Moving Lars on is only a point for debate because we can't find anyone stupid/desperate enough to take Chimbonda. One is a solid player and model professional who embodies the values of BRFC. The other is called Pascal.
