Doaksie
Hereford united now in extra time against charlton. A hereford win and getting them in the draw would be a dream tie for me. Think I'd end up with a full house lol. Looks like you're getting your wish Rick. 1-0 up.

Jan
MK Dons 4-1 down Justice. As I said, MK Dons didn't even notice he'd gone. I bet they're noticing he's back. One of my friends' husbands goes every week with his two boys. He wants him sacked already. Oh sweet irony. No doubt this result will be down to racism too. NO, IT'S DOWN TO THE ARROGANCE OF A PRICK WHO THINKS HE'S TOO KNOWLEDGEABLE TO TAKE HIS BADGES!! Fail, fail and fail again, please. But do it quickly enough to save MK Dons by leaving. Just like us (Lived in MK for 10 years- have a soft spot for the place)

Blue blood
For geographical reasons I'd like us to play Carlisle (plus the fact they are utterly dire I'm surprised they got through). Other than that, a local team where we can take a big following would be nice. Still remember 7000 rovers fans in the quater final away game vs wigan - great atmosphere that. A cup of beans
Flopsy hates Hereford after getting stuck behind a tractor on the Hereford to Kington road some years ago whilst in his official cone counting capacity. in my experience, hereford girls are far superior to those from birmingham, flopsy! i really like ross. beautiful place. regarding the draw, it appears this draw was split into north and south.. (ish) is it an open draw from now on or does the same apply ? i see marc richards scored 2 for port vale and knocked out sheff utd. he's an ex rover from the same youth team that ben burgess was in. bunn wasnt in goal... howler from his stand-in keeper, ian bennett - apparantly. cn174
Firstly, how come Newcastle weren't in the first round? Is it because they finished only 3rd bottom in the Prem last year? Onto better things for those who like Swindon - a nice little feature on the BBC When Swindon Stunned the Gunners
owenrilla
Firstly, how come Newcastle weren't in the first round? Is it because they finished only 3rd bottom in the Prem last year? Both Newcastle and Middlesbrough got byes due to being the highest ranked 1st round teams and something to do with the Europa League. Link According to that the higher rankings are in part due to Middlesbrough winning it in 2004 (questionable relevance but OK) and Newcastle being losing finalists in 1976

Stuart
Both Newcastle and Middlesbrough got byes due to being the highest ranked 1st round teams and something to do with the Europa League. Link According to that the higher rankings are in part due to Middlesbrough winning it in 2004 (questionable relevance but OK) and Newcastle being losing finalists in 1976 From that article: Championship-bound Newcastle United and Middlesbrough will begin next season's League Cup in the second round after receiving a first-round bye. Uefa decided against extra Europa League places for English clubs and as a result the highest ranked first round teams were fast-tracked into round two. Middlesbrough were Carling Cup winners as recently as 2004, beating Bolton 2-1 at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. Newcastle were 1976 finalists, losing 2-1 to Manchester City at Wembley. I don't understand what the English League Cup has to do with the Europa League. Maybe some could enlighten? Taking into account Newcastles form for 33 years ago, if that is what they did, is madness. It's the equivalent of Rovers being given a bye to the 2nd round of the FA Cup because we once won the Premier League title.

Onto better things for those who like Swindon - a nice little feature on the BBC When Swindon Stunned the Gunners Thanks for that, Clare. Happy days. I remember once typing up a copy of John Trollope's contract for the Bank I worked in; he lived just down the road from me. More recently my eldest son used to host drinking sessions with the players at his house, lol! John Trollope, Don Rogers, absolute legends.
