yet again the so called Top 6 clubs have been badly advised and clearly don't understand what the fans want. 

Look at PSG comment on this. They are totally correct that teams like Leicester and Atlanta should be in the Champions League if they performed well in their domestic league

Plus Bayern Munich are totally against this.

This may be a way of testing the waters in preparation for a less extreme plan.

However, what is not talked about enough is the oligarchy we have now which is making football increasing noncompetitive. Unless a club has a wealthy backer - and, these days, it has to be more than a Jack Walker - what chance do they have in the Premier League? Leicester were exceptional and continue to invest well but they too have wealthy backers in a Thai billionaire family, I believe.

As much as I support Rovers, it does cross my mind as to why I should wish them to get into the topflight. There's little chance of doing anything for any length time. The best that can be hoped for is cup success and maybe, sneaking into Europe. Otherwise, it's a case of slogging it out near the bottom of the league with incredibly overpaid and overpriced players taking part in a game riven by fear and dependence on money, which is driving skilful play and risk-taking out of the game. We already have that in the second tier but Premier League is multiplied greatly. 

The long-term model for any club of Rovers size will be to be a yo-yo club between Premier League and Championship - and that's aspirational. That is all that can be reasonably expected, barring a financial takeover or a Burnley situation with an exceptional manager. And, even Burnley will no doubt be relegated in the near future - perhaps, when Dyche moved on. Reform is needed of the status quo but it's not talked about much.

A European Super league is inevitable. The lucrative deals for UEFA and the Premier League bank on the presence of these clubs. Further down the road, A World Club league will be established. There is nothing any organisation can do to prevent the establishment of a European Super League. A football club is a business not something to be touched up for 'solidarity'.

if they want to form their own league fine,just remove them from their own respective competitions,i guarantee viewing figures and attendances will fall when you`ve no domestic rivalry and when playing meaningless euro league matches occurs,in other words call their bluff,kick them out  and lets see how long this euro league lark last,i predict not long

I'm sorry but it isn't inevitable that Super League cos the club owners have badly misjudged what their clubs fans and supporters wanted. 

Look at the statement from those 6 supporters trust groups

A European Super League at some stage seems almost inevitable. Foreign ownership has destroyed the soul of the English game. Fans are now simply seen as customers and with many owners even what happens on the pitch is irrelevant all that seems to matter now is how much money can be made.

@chaddyrovers yes, it is inevitable.  Playing against the top teams in Europe week in, week out is just what fans want.  Clubs have not misjudged their fans. These self-interested fan groups now find their agenda exposed and left high and dry.

If this year has proved nothing else, it's that you don't need fans in grounds. I think people will travel every other week. Didn't we have one fan who flew in for every home game from Finland?

I think that they have misjudged the fans in this country who go to watch them week in week out up and down the country. What this will appeal more to is overseas fans why don't have that strong attachment to the English game in general or to their clubs local area, to their traditions and history. They have become supporters of their club solely down to the fact that their club has been successful in their life time.

The six from our country have way more fans wanting to attend than they currently have space for. Their grounds will be full for their home matches.

This has the backing of JP Morgan to the tune of 6bn as per Sky Sports News and presumably their arsenal of lawyers.

How wrong you are Richard.I believe the majority of fans of these involved clubs would be up in arms.Many would boycott.

This is going to be very,very interesting all the same.

There would be a real irony in this as Sky created the monster that football has become. My personal view is to let them go ahead with their own league and then take the opportunity to reset football in this country and get back to the real world we had before money and greed took over.

Gut feel from me is they have misjudged it and the fans will be happy to go to war with the clubs. That fight has been brewing for a long time and this is just the spark it needs.

A breakaway could be the best thing that has ever happened to the English game.

Take a year or two for things to level out, but it would present a brilliant opportunity for top to bottom reform.

So what if the next sky deal might not be so big, just means all clubs will have to stop making bang average players millionaires by the time they hit 20.

We got the Premier League and all the inequality that goes with it thanks to similar thinking. This sort of idea from the laughably called “big 6” is the next step on from that. The Premier League hasn’t brought the international success it promised, and I dare say there’s no improvement for the vast majority of fans across the 92 league clubs. People who refer to and view football as “a product” and watch it on TV from all corners of the globe are the ones being considered here.

Kick them out of FIFA, effectively make it a different sport for them. No doubt our game will endure.

@Miller11Individual teams aren't members of FIFA. That's despite Man Utd having a fanbase numbering 60m.

The general reaction to this  reminds me of the fossils reacting to Kerry Packer who changed cricket for good.
