Absolutely agree there needs to be sanctions. This isn't some spur of the moment thing they misjudged this was a conscious premeditated attempt to seize the game to which they didn't anticipate this level of opposition.

These clubs now realise that they cant just do what they want, that needs reinforced with a strong punishment.

These clubs should still be subject to sanctions. Hefty points deductions. Ideally you'd punish the owners not the fans but not sure how you'd do that.

I do believe these Americans will come again. They don't give a shit about history and sporting integrity and they'll just see this as a temporary setback.

The Real Madrid boss is going to look like a dick after his comments earlier today.

He was giving it the billy big potatoes..... none of you can stop it or punish us!

Now everyone drops out hours later including the 2 Spanish rivals potentially.

Oooops. 😀

yep 99.9% certain this nonsense is dead now, but the big threat I mentioned before remains - that the CL is pushed even more into the direction of the big clubs' liking. There was talk about some positive reform happening in football, I hope this doesn't kill those hopes too.

Ed Woodward gone at ManU - piqued at ESL collapse or impending financial trouble at Old Trafford?

Either way, big clubs in turmoil

City and Chelsea were the clubs who benefited least from the ESL. Neither are in financial trouble and both have been regularly relevant as far as the PL title and Champions League are concerned in recent years. None of the other clubs can tick both boxes as far as criteria is concerned, so it's no wonder they were the first two to pull out. Their FOMO disappeared when they realised the sheer weight of opposition was about to crush the ESL before it ever got off the ground

The pair of them along with every other club involved should still be heavily sanctioned, though.
