[Archived] Crossbar Challenge

Recommended Posts

It's been advertised recently on the official website, I've never actually see it take place.

It's been taking place at HT in the last 2 home games. Few kids having a pop, as well as adults. Good fun, but on Sunday, one contestant was making a huge hole in the ground with his boots so he could have a good shot at it!

Have they been better than Berbatov was on Sunday?

Has anyone seen Salgado's version of the challenge where he launces the goal posts across the halfway line to hit the ball? Quite impressive.

I entered the draw to have a crack at the crossbar challenge through the offy website and got through!

I'll be taking to Ewood at half term during the Arsenal game – should be a laugh.

Surely I can't do any worse than any of the other fans that have had a go in recent weeks.

Crikey, if Pascal Chimbonda can ping a ball 40 yards, I'm damn sure most people can...

I was quite impressed with Diouf immediately after the no-marks had a go.

Ok, he was just outside the edge of the penalty area but he hit it twice in succession. I think Di Santo hit it once too.

Some of those people who attempt it are useless. Surely you'd have some range practise at Pleasy a couple of weeks before hand. After all, £1000 is not to be sniffed at!

Most people run straight at the ball, as if taking a penalty.

I've never seen anyone yet who would try a Johnny Wilkinson type of kick; similar to taking a corner kick. You have to loft the ball high into the air with pace. Very difficult.
