tcj_jones
First of all, the players have been a disgrace this tournament. They are the primary reason why we are out. However, I think Capello has a lot to answer for. IMO, he got every single decision that could be made wrong since the World Cup squad was announced. If Capello hadn't have been offered this new contract, I'b be very tempted to sack him. Here's a list of my major gripes: - sticking to a 4-4-2 that doesn't suit our squad. - fitting Lampard and Gerrard into that formation, one wasted on the left. - J. Cole on the bench. - starting Green when James was the obvious choice. - Upson playing over Dawson, who is a considerably better player and who has had a considerably better season. - bringing a omplete crock (King) with the squad who promptly gets injured within 45 minutes and doesn't return. - not bringing Ashley Young, yet bringing SWP. - playing a quarter final with no wing on either pace. - using Heskey, despite Crouch's fantastic goal scoring record for England. - dropping Heskey and going instead for two little guys up front who cannot keep hold of the ball when it's punted up to them. - playing such a rushed, panicky game-plan where we look for a killer ball as soon as we get it, even if it's from our own penalty box. - lumping it long far too often, when there is nobody up front who it can stick to.
