Mattyblue
CANT WAIT!!! Bring them on. If we play to our potential then we have nothing to worry about. Anyone know if Artita & Cahill the cheat are fit? Of course we can get a result, but Everton looked one of the better sides we faced at Ewood last season. 1-1 for me. Nice to see people haven't lost faith! Personally I'm going for a draw, they never start a season well, and I'm not sure about how we will fare until I see us play this year- 1-1. LeChuck
There's nothing to suggest anything other than a sound beating on Saturday. Err...yes there is. We have the same squad that put together a great run at the end of last season. Did you think before you wrote that, or just jump on the negative bandwagon? 92er
Err...yes there is. We have the same squad that put together a great run at the end of last season. Did you think before you wrote that, or just jump on the negative bandwagon? Didn't we lose one of those games at home? The one thing I can't see is our winning-we might get a draw if we're lucky. Everton just have better players than us and generally do well at Ewood, or at least have been doing for the last few years.

Gav
I can never forget the game in 92 when they played in salmon pink and beat us at Ewood 3-2?? Tony Cottee?? So with that always in mind 0-
Plastic Head
Very hard to predict the first game of every season and this one is no different. A draw seems the most likely result. If we defend really well we could nick it.. if we go a goal down you can't see us turning it round. They are weak at full back so it's a shame Olsson is doubtful. The worse the quality of the game the better chance we have...so let's hope for a shocker eh.

roversfan99
Hmm id be surprised because Olsson was with the Sweden squad only yesterday, so if he is injured thats what may have prevented him from actually playing last night.

Alan75
Half time 2-0 down, Beattie comes on at half time, scores a hatrick And the messageboard goes mad with praise for Beattie saying bargain buy etc etc well you can dream. Actual result 1-0 to Everton
philipl
8/1 against a 0-0 draw is the Daily Telegraph's betting tip on this one!
Gavlar Somerset Rover!
0-2 and the messageboard goes into uproar at the lack of investment. We always do badly against Everton at home and they just look a bit too strong for me.

Hughesy
I just cant wait to read this message board following the game...it cracks me up....Either everyone will have the rope out or they will have changed the doom & gloom tune! I cant wait for the game, nothing to fear - BRING IT ON!!!

Ozz
Slightly OT but...I think my favourite ever FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON would probably be the game at Crystal Palace, Shearers debut and two stunning goals. I got a lift down there, arrived fairly early which was unusual as it is a bit hard to find Selhurst at times, and got sat in a pub not far from the away end ( I say end, it was a triangle of crumbling terrace). There was a bit of banter in the pub between both sets of fans, but there was a definite edge around-the 80s still weren't that long ago in 1992 and many Rovers fans held a grudge against Palace for that play-off final defeat a few years earlier. But those Shearer goals were awesome-we knew we had some player then-and a mention too for Stuart Ripley, also making his debut-he played brilliantly, scoring with a header and causing havoc all afternoon.
