[Archived] Song For Dunny Boy

Recommended Posts

To the tune of the Londonderry Air. With apologies to the Danny Boy

Oh Dunny Boy

The fans the fans are calling

From the Blackburn End

And down the Riverside

Our heros gone

And scored against the Dingles

Tis you Tis you who made the @#/?s cry

And come you back

To Ewoods merry meadow

Where all the crowd is Blue and White as snow

For I'll be here

In sunshine and in shadow

Oh Dunny Boy Oh Dunny Boy I love you so

And when you come

And all the leaves are dying

If I am dead

As dead I well may be

You'll come and find

The place where I am lying

In Ewood's green and pleasant arms I'll be

And I shall hear the songs for all the Rovers

And all my grave shall warmer, sweeter be

For you will bend

And tell me that you scored three

And I shall sleep in peace until

Jack's face I see

Jack's face I see

This is a person who clearly has too much time on their hands.

I reckon the riff in The White Stripe's Seven Nation Army would be good.

They do it at basketball for a player called Deng and it sounds quality, dead simple for the masses to pick up too.

Dunn, Dunn Dunn Dunn, Dunn Dunn, Dunn!
