LeChuck
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6342191,00.html I know it's being discussed in the transfer topic, but he'll need his own topic at some point I imagine...judging by the reaction so far, it could be the Keith Andrews topic mk2. Personally I think it's a shrewd bit of business, Sam obviously thinks he can stay fit.

Anti-Dingle-Brigade
Pros: 1 year deal. Good player on his day. Can play the loneman as well as Roberts. Is a better finisher than Roberts. Cheap. Cons: Injury problems. Prone to "Robertsness", aka spooning over penalties etc. If Sam thinks he's good enough, I'm all for it.

Mattyblue
Bloody hell, this MB never fails to astound me! 12 month deal, we needed a striker and he's better than Roberts! Woe and double woe!
Mr. E
He can stay as a back-up, but I really, really wouldn't want him taking even a minute of playing time away from Kalinic or Diouf.

I actual think that you can make an impact! COYB Newcastle get some French kid who had great potential and has sulked off like a spoilt brat from his club and refused to return! against us getting someone who was willing to come in on trial and try and prove themselves. Maybe quality wise they are different but Ben Arfa hasn't proved anything over here yet
CrazyIvan
A decent deal and only a year so not a lot lost if it goes wrong. I'd like to know what the deal actually is, ie pay as you play etc... Anybody know any details yet?

sam_rovers
So if Wages are 90% of Revenue and the goal is to lower it signing Benjani makes perfect sense. With the anticipated increase in shirt sales and merchandising, especially in Zimbabwe, we will increase revenue to the point where signing Benjani will actually lower the wage to Revenue ratio. Are you serious? An average zimbabwean probably makes a pound of sand and a cup of water a day, we'll be lucky if the merchandising to the whole of Zimbabwe will exceed £100. You need to keep this in context and remember that Steve Bruce has signed Titus Bramble for big money. Benji, benji, yay yay Benji, benji ya ya Benji, benji yo you Benji, benji ye ye *celebrates* Full name Benjamin Mwaruwari. Try stitching that into a song Reb! Are you serious? An average zimbabwean probably makes a pound of sand and a cup of water a day, we'll be lucky if the merchandising to the whole of Zimbabwe will exceed £100. On the other hand it's quite possible that we'll get an order worth 10 million or so for one single shirt with Benjami's name stitched in gold thread from Mugabe for his favourite grandson.
