Well that will go down well with the 'ammers fans!

He would get them promoted, to be fair. Not that the poor deluded Spammers will see it that way, of course.

Exactly right. West Ham fans are a bit like Spurs, Everton (school of science), Newcastle etc and think they are special. I'm sure all three imagine themselves to be the pioneers of passing, attacking football.

One guy on their forum said he was 'going to support Arsenal if Sam took over'.

I don't think it's nailed on that Sam would get them straight back up. The Championship is a tricky league to get out of, and I wonder how easy it would be for him to work at West Ham.

Not really premier league but....

Big Sam in West Ham talks

Six months too late. Reminds me of the old saying that 'Pride comes before a fall'. The stupid and misplaced attitude to football and their place in it by some of the WHU fans has cost them their place in the Prem, probably their chance of a new stadium and better still it's cost the porn twins at least 50m.

Oh well never mind eh?

One guy on their forum said he was 'going to support Arsenal if Sam took over'.

Talks cheap amongst the know nowts isn't it?

I'd bloody love to see what he'd do if they did what we did and announced Paul Ince as their new manager instead!!!

They were discussing the "raffle" for Olympic tickets on Radio 2 the other day. One guy rang and said he'd missed out on the draw for the 100 metres final but he'd got 25000 tickets for West Ham v Doncaster!

Interesting that St. Coyle hasnt really set the world on fire with Bolton this season in the end. Did worse than Sam did with us last season.

If we hadn't imploded at the Breezeblock earlier this season we'd have finished above them....(if my sister had....she'd be my brother I know but you get my point hopefully !)

Yeah, I do think it goes to show that trying to play attractive football in this league on a budget will rarely have you doing much better than treading water in the long run.

If Coyle is given some money to spend though that may well change, I still rate him as a manager.

CHELSEA STATEMENT

Posted on: Sun 22 May 2011

Chelsea Football Club can confirm that Carlo Ancelotti parted company with the club today (Sunday, 22 May).

The owner and board would like to thank Carlo for his contribution and achievements since taking over as manager in July 2009, which included winning the Double for the first time in the club's history.

However, this season's performances have fallen short of expectations and the club feels the time is right to make this change ahead of next season's preparations.

Carlo will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge, where he will be given the reception and respect his position in our history deserves.

Chelsea's long-term football objectives and ambitions remain unchanged and we will now be concentrating all our efforts on identifying a new manager.

There will be no further comment until that appointment is made.

  • Backroom

Bolton dropped like a stone at the end, a stunningly bad end to the season that must have cost them about £5million in terms of league place prize money. For a club like Bolton thats a lot of revenue to lose.
