bigbrandjohn
Quoted in the Telegraph he likes to pass along the ground. Perhaps someone should tell him that's not part of the job description
bluebruce
Allardyce is saying that it is becoming difficult to even sign free transfers now because of the high wages being demanded...think we should take this as a sign that the Goulon hold-up could have been over wages and that he might be on a pretty packet? Just a thought.

Just a thought. Having a maxed out wage budget doesn't exactly give you much room to manoeuvre with. Something which Sam really shouldn't be complaining about. bluebruce
I don't think that applies in this lad's case, to be fair. Good, was just a little concerned given the timing of his comments about a week after we've signed a freebie. In that case, surely he is referring to somebody who he tried to sign on a free but was deterred by the wages? Any thoughts who that might be? unleaded
The French man mountain scored the winner again in the last moments V Leeds................... Link Young midfielder Adam Clayton was on target once again for Leeds United in a behind-closed-doors game at Blackburn on Tuesday. The former Manchester City youngster scored United's opening goal in a 3-2 defeat at the hands of a strong Premier League side. Manager Simon Grayson was using the exercise to give a number of first team squad a run-out, and Billy Paynter, Leigh Bromby, Andrew Hughes, Jason Crowe, Fede Bessone, and Ben Parker were among the players to feature for 90 minutes. Lloyd Sam also made his comeback from injury and played the bulk of the game. The home side had taken the lead through Nikola Kalinic and their advantage was doubled by experienced striker Jason Roberts, who converted a penalty. Clayton pulled a goal back moments before half-time before substitute Andy Robinson, a replacement for Ramon Nunez, levelled matters. The result was settled four minutes from time, though, when Herold Goulon made it 3-2 to the home side.

Backroom Tom Posted November 2, 2010 Backroom Share Posted November 2, 2010 Nice to see Goulon has 2 in 2 even if it is for the reserves
LeChuck
Nice to see Goulon has 2 in 2 even if it is for the reserves I'm hoping he can be the genuine box-to-box player we miss alongside the holding midfielder. Apparently he played attacking midfield sometimes for Lens so he must be comfortable on the ball, these goals are just backing that up.

The Rover of Finland
Does anyone think he will play against Wigan? It´s a must win match so Sam won´t test him yet. Maybe on bench.
herbergeehh
Our midfield did well vs Chelsea, no real need to change that. On the bench sounds about right.
Doaksie
Goulon scored again for the reserves tonight (3 in 3 now, if you include the practice match he played in against Leeds). A goalscoring midfielder, and a recognised central player aswell. Hoping to see him make an appearance for the first team in the near future. Seems promising. Backroom Tom Posted November 8, 2010 Backroom Share Posted November 8, 2010 King Herold sounds like he's doing really well, good to see him on the bench at weekend maybe he'll get a start in a week or two
Exiled_Rover
Why in a week or two? Nobody else in the midfield is doing anything. Throw him in there, let's see what he's got.
Backroom Tom Posted November 8, 2010 Backroom Share Posted November 8, 2010 Sam said he wouldn't be fit enough for a few weeks yet. I always think if they are fit enough to be on the bench they should be ready to play 80-90 mins though if needed
