Funny how not many people said that when he played for us, or when Villa paid £7m for him!

Some poor judges Hughesy on here, they are better off playing championship manager and staying in their bedrooms. :tu:

Absolutely sick and tired of Rovers fans falling for the line that Samba wants out and the media continually printing it for their friends.

Falling for it??

TWICE Samba has spoken to the press about how he wants to go, both times with quotes from him - nothing has since been denied by him.... Wake up n smell the coffee Jal.

And by god man, why have you been so depressed this last week?

So why doesnt the club just give him his big pay day or is it they dont have any money so they need to sell him to get some.

You along with others are accepting Rovers as a selling club if they decide to SELL or SWAP the team captain.

If Barcelona buy Fabregas does that make Arsenal a selling club?

Another thing are you a season ticket holder at Rovers ?

Are you for real??

Nicko has stated he's been angling for a move for a year or so but why let that get in the way of your sad diatribes....

ROVERS HAS BEEN A SELLING CLUB FOR YEARS SO WHY ARE YOU BOTHERED ABOUT IT!?!?!?!?!!?

And the big pay day for players is not only in salary but also because the player and the manager gain a percentage of the transfer fee. Well,m if there is no transfer, there will be no percentage, right?

so to summarize this transfer window and this may not be popular: we have an unattainable list of targets(Ronaldinho,Duff, Adam, and Santa Cruz), we may be losing our captain, and we're going to give our supposed temporary/transitional manager a long term deal.

So why doesnt the club just give him his big pay day So you would reward our "Captain" who has used the sacking of the mangaer to forward his own cause and bank balance by chucking him a pay rise and a couple of million quid for his loyalty? or is it they dont have any money so they need to sell him to get some.Yawn

Absolutely sick and tired of Rovers fans falling for the line that Samba wants outWhat "Line"? So, he hasnt said he wants to leave then? and the media continually printing it for their friends. So its all a nasty conspiricy by them nasty media types?

You along with others are accepting Rovers as a selling club if they decide to SELL or SWAP the team captain. The only non selling clubs in the world are Barcelona and Man City and to a lesser extent Man Utd and Chelsea. You are delusional if you think otherwise.

Season Ticket holder for the previous 2 seasons thank you very much. Not this season due to the birth of my first child. That ok with you?

If Samba wants out, we should wait until a club wants to pay for him, not accept a swap deal that is not in the interests of the club just because there is only one team bidding from him and they won't pay up.

Case of tough cookie

A player can want to leave all they want, but must concede that if no one is willing to pay up, then they stick around

It goes back to Rovers and what was stated from Venky's from the outset about them buying the club and that Rovers would not be a selling club. If Samba was to leave then Venky's will be seen as a selling club cashing in because they could keep their captain.

Steve Kean would instantly become a weaker manger for being unable to keep the team captain at the club cant you see this or are you being manipulated by the media, as what they say or print goes FFS.

Kean has also come under attack because his agents are the advisers to the Indian group. However, his contract negotiations will be carried out with current Rovers chairman John Williams.

Best thing I have read for weeks, at least JW seems to be getting more involved than he was which can only be good for Rovers.

There is no need to give Kean an extended contract as Manager yet.

For all we know he could have struck lucky beating two clubs in free fall and playing a QPR semi-reserve side. I hope that is not the case but we were also well beaten by two clubs in what is seen as "our bracket" of the PL.

The naivety of the Venky's remains breath taking. And JW is the Chairman of the club so the fact JW will do the contract negotiations ought not to be a source of comment. Another indicator of how utterly skewed the Ewood madhouse is at present.

Again, nothing to do with what you or I were saying.

If Samba doesn't want to leave and what has been reported is wrong then he won't go. We aren't planning on selling him for the sake of it are we.

Because Venkys said we wouldnt be when they took over, obviously this may yet be another broken promise from Venkys.

But they don't want to leave, Samba does!!!!!

So we are told and why because Samba will probably command the highest fee for Venky's and Kentaro.

Oklahoma, I think people have the right to be worried, in all honesty this window just looks like every other for Rovers fans and considering we have new owners that promised investment we dont seem to have made the best start.

We have had to endure some bad transfer times over the past few years with our best players leaving for average ones to be brought in to replace them, the stories that we are hearing are hardly inspiring and it seems like it is just going to be business as usual.

We all know the date and we also all know how hard it is to crack a deal in the window, add that to the fact that we have new owners who people dont really trust which just leads to fans wondering in which direction we are going.

A few quick signings would help people put aside their worries that the current owners are interested in the club and not just their poultry business.

Biggest fee? Certainly right there. Probably amounting to about zero seen as it'll allegedly be a swap.

If we trade samba for warnock and Collins I for one will not be impressed..

Good man! looks like there are three of us now, along with Samrover in what we all believe would be a diabolical decision for Rovers immediate future.

OF COURSE IT IS !

An absolutely stupid decision done by a very naive manager supported by a bunch of idiots if it actually happens. Steven Warnock is one of the worst defenders in the premiership and Collins is just a bog standard defender = no return.

Come on Rovers, must do better than this, if we are to achieve the targets set out by Venky's

whilst i agree samba for those 2 isnt exactly a fair swap (with all due respect) that particular remark is absoluteley ######!! while warnock was with us he was arguably the 2nd best english LB in the country and while i will accept a certain amount of loss of form has took the shine off him , he would still get in the top 10 teams in PL

For me Samba is irreplaceable and keeping him till atleast the summer should be a priority.

swap deal makes no sense, venky's need to put their money where their mouth is.
