[Archived] Monday Bank Holiday - Rovers fans welcome at Chorley FC!

Recommended Posts

The only live football action in Lancashire today is at Victory Park, the home of Chorley FC!!

The Magpies host Curzon Ashton in the semi-final of the Evo-Stik Division 1 North play-offs. A crowd over 1,000+ is expected for what promises to be an exciting and entertaining game. With the play-off final on Friday, there has to be a winner today so the game could go to extra-time and possibly the dreaded penalty shoot-out!!

The game starts at 3:00pm. Admission prices are Adults - £7.00 and concessions (OAPs and children) £3.50).

Get behind former Rovers favourites, Garry Flitcroft and Mat Jansen this afternoon at Chorley's Victory Park!! Blue skies, sunshine, exciting football and a friendly atmosphere for all await you this afternoon!!

Matt Jansen is likely to play some part in today's match. Recently, he has been on the bench but usually comes on in the second half. Personally, I would like to see Matt in the starting eleven. He still has a touch of class and can transform a game with his skills and determination.

Please note, as this is a play-off game we are unable to offer reduced admission prices to Rovers season ticket holders. This offer was only for league matches at Victory Park.

Sunglasses, sun-cream and Rovers shirts essential at Costa del Chorley this afternoon!!!

aye we all saw how friendly when you played chester, may have a jaunt to fredricks tho ;)

I don't expect any kind of the repeat of the Chester game - hopefully Chorley will keep the d***heads out of Victory Park.

If any of you haven't been to a non-league game before I urge you to go, it is good fun. The footy might not be as good (although you should be used to it watching Rovers) but you will see a fully committed game from both teams on such an important day. Don't think I can make it today, but hopefully Chorley can make it into the Premier next season!

Just been speaking to my parents who were there today. To think my mother never went to a football match in her life until she turned 60 (she's68 now), has been a season ticket holder at Rovers for 4 years now, and she's been to non league football half a dozen times this season. Talk about reinventing yourself as an OAP!

Dunny was there as ever with his little girl, and when Matty came off, he put on a coat and went to sat with his wife and kids in the stand just behind my parents. Seems to be a very friendly atmosphere.

Big day on Friday for the Magpies.
