Good ideas guys but this is not Championship manager. So could you offer any suggestions how we going to get those still within the duration of their contracts to tear em up? Hypnosis perhaps? Threats of violence against their wives and children possibly?

It's just same old same old, contracts only work one way, those who are any good we struggle to keep whilst those who are crap or long term injured stick to their contracts like sh1t to a blanket.

it's just a thought but if Big Sam finds himself a full-time job, maybe he'll come in for Goulon and Linganzi seeing as he rated them so highly.

I agree with you m1st - its just a shame that Wolves took advantage of it and served up the sh*ttest food I think I have ever tasted at a Premiership ground. The pessimist in me would say that Wolves swapped stock for cheap crap, the optimist in me would say that they serve sh*t all the time!

A great gesture in any case, and credit must go to Venkys for that and the ticket contribution.

BTW - what a day eh??!

Can't comment on the food - I took one look at the length of the queue when I arrived inside the ground [75 mins before kick-off!] and thought I'd probably not see any of the first half if I joined it!

But, yes; grand gesture both there and in the ticket contribution. And yes, a marvellous day all right - just as well Wolves stayed up!!

thats what the bookies think only wolves + wigan below us in the betting besides the promoted clubs

meaningless - it's not necessarily what they really think but is where we did end up just above Wolves and Wigan. At this stage I'm surprised they are offering odds because nobody knows who is buying and selling whom

Personally, I see us going one of two ways if we retain Kean.

1. We become "a Sunderland" - wasting massive amounts of money on average players for inflated prices and big wages, making no real improvement year-on-year and continuing to finish low-mid table.

For eg. Kean giving Roberts a three year contract and spending c. 90k a week on Roque and seemingly wanting to bring him in permanently this summer. He deserves credit for getting J Jones in on loan, but the other two he brought in have barely even featured.

Indeed, I don't trust Kean to move sensibly in the transfer market. I see him being like a kid in a toy store and throwing money around at whatever's there.

2. Spending big and getting relegated.

On the basis of our end of season form, Kean probably does now deserve a shot next season, but I don't think he's the right man to take us forward and I think it could end in disaster.

dont think its meaningless....the bookies are weighing up the situation promoted always favourites to go wigan selling their best players , wolves spending their cash on a stand rovers giving a poss 10 mill to a clown to spend...lol

the bookies are never too far wrong

I'm not sure how anybody is in a position to judge Kean's lack of ability in the transfer market.

JJ was a brilliant signing, Rochina looks to be a good prospect and Formica we will have to wait on.

RSC is a move that I feel many managers would have made in the position Kean was in, given our strikeforce in January.

A former striker who has proven he can score goals in the Premiership and stated his intent to come to the club.

Big wages and injury-prone maybe but no commitment to a permanent deal.

Some might point to Demba Ba's form at West Ham but that was more luck than judgement on their part.

Now thats probably as good an article as I have seen on the subject, very fair and very true in many respects, I dont think even Venkeans could argue with that one!

All about Kentaro more like. They are running the show completely, Keans a puppet and a mouthpiece only, Anderson and Huber are now pulling all the strings. It's all a massive scam to milk the Indians dry........ oops nearly forgot.... imo. :angry2:

Most Rovers fans weren't fooled by that late flurry at Wolves and know it did little to paper over what was a hugely disappointing season.

A blast of fresh-air realism from David Anderson who obviously hasn't been on this messsgeboard because the owners have managed to fool plenty of fans including a very high-ranking (according to him) AST (whatever that is) teacher in Birmingham. It's a journalist's job to question and probe and if articles like these help to shed some light into the murky dealings of Venky's and provoke our reclusive and secretive owners into some sort of response then so much the better.

Do you have to get so personal all the time?

I don't think there are many who think Kean is 'good' or anything special, but are prepared to give him a chance next season to wipe the slate clean and show us what he's made of. Ideally I'd like a new manager but it isn't happening is it?

Agreed Sambo- hopefully Kean continues to improve and we spend some money!

Jim- you are on ignore.

There will definitely not be a brighter future if Rovers sell Samba, Jones, Hoilett, Olsson, Robinson or any of the better football players at the club. Most definitely not !

Yet we wait to see what they can deliver.

Damn it.

My "Pauly the Blood Sucking Parasite" didn't even get an honourable mention.

Based on my double secret sources, you may rest assured that the panel thought your effort was absolutely brilliant and a work of sublime genius. Unfortunately, they also felt, correctly I fear, it far too advanced an artistic work to capture the mind of the general public. I feel confident in saying that you can sleep easy, secure in the knowledge that history will vindicate your artistic vision. :P

I feel strangely vindicated.

Buts let's be frank here, that dog is just some heartbroken childs silent anguish towards the loss of Sam.
