[Archived] More FIFA Nonsense?

Recommended Posts

Following on from the total farce that was Sepp Blatter's re-elective position as President of FIFA. he is now bringing Henry Kissinger on board to make it look all brightness and light.

He says he is not going to victimise SFA and FA for pushing for a votes delay.

If he told me Monday came the day before Tuesday I would check the calender to make sure.

This guy knows all the tricks. He is a real piece of work.

After all of the shenanigans that have gone on at FIFA over the past few months I struggle to see how they can be seen as a legitimate organisation capable in any way of managing world football. I get the feeling the power FIFA has amassed over the years will ultimately mean nothing changes, despite the fact the organisation is corrupt to the core and in recent times a total farce.

I found his speech abit of a threat yesterday - he was referring to the FA's attempt to suspend the bid and was saying he wont seek revenge and then said

"There's no bad feeling with the associations that didn't vote for me," he said.

"I'm the president of all the associations and will work with all of them - and with 186 votes I'm proud. Don't worry about the English."

:!: He's as bent as they come, so when he singles out just us from the 17 FA's that voted against going ahead, you know he will.

Following the press we gave them about ‘dodgy bids’ etc prior to the world cup votes, and now all the stuff that is coming out + the FA’s decision to appeal the vote – there is ZERO chance that England will get the World Cup anytime soon.

I was gutted when the 2018 bid failed, but in hindsight i really couldn't give a toss, where is the pride of hosting what has become an incredibly corrupt and dodgy competition.

In all honesty I would be happy if we pulled out tomorrow, who needs the World Cup when you've got the Premier League?

As for Bladder, this should cheer you up if you haven't already seen it.

According to Wiki (and I've no reason to doubt this summary), here is a list of Blatter's "achievements" as FIFA president. Make your own mind up:

- The silver and golden goal rules. Both now obsolete.

- Since the 2002 World Cup, the current World Cup champion no longer automatically qualifies for the next World Cup finals,

- National associations must now enforce immediate suspensions of all players sent off during a game, even if television replays offer compelling evidence of a player's innocence. The FA have opted out of this rule (for straight reds).

- The booking of players who remove their shirts after scoring a goal, as well as those who are guilty of 'over-zealous celebrations'

- No football matches will be played above 3000 metres (9840 feet). This affected the Bolivian national football team.

Seems to really get to the heart of the issues affecting football. Goal line and other technology is clearly unnecessary by comparison.

After reading FOUL The Secret World of FIFA and seeing the shenanigans of the last few days I was so angry that I emailed all of FIFA's partners to register my disgust. I was pleasantly suprised by some of the replies I received. Some of them also expressed concerns. The only way to rid football of these crooks is to cut off their finance. Multinationals are very sensitive to any criticism and if enough people let them know they were looked on in a negative light, because of their association with FIFA, maybe things could change.

Any mention of this ******* **** makes me need a drink just so I can stop the feedback loop on my blood flow that sends me into an unstoppable manic rage. He's a disgrace to human kind. The fact that in this media dominated age such a corrupt, bullying dictator can sit at the head of any international organisation beggars belief. There are literally hundreds of things now wrong with FIFA and their money-grabbing, self-serving bull**** attitude to the beautiful game. I'd try and list them but my head would explode halfway through. Can't wait for the ******* to die.

Apart from that though he's an all right guy.

  • 2 weeks later...

Fifa vice-president Jack Warner has resigned, world football's governing body has confirmed.

"As a consequence of Mr Warner's resignation, all ethics committee procedures against him have been closed and the presumption of innocence is maintained," said a Fifa statement.

More comedy gold from FIFA!

I don't know what's more of a farce- the fact that the sport was invented in England, and it's now run from Switzerland, or that it's so blatantly corrupt, they won't even consider moving on with technology, leaving us way behind other sports!

It would be interesting to hear the views of FIFA from people who live outside of the UK. What are the views of FIFA in your countries?

Tim, I'm not an outsider, well, I suppose Bolton could be...

Anyway, I was talking to a number of non EU guys about just this topic, they have no love of blatter, however, they think we (And the main EU countries) are corrupt and self serving.

They say, and I have done some research that validates this, that we, (The FA) and therefore, England, tried to block the expansion of membership and therefore stopped them competing and developing (Was it 1974 / 76?)

They say that Blatter & Co have flaws, however, we (The FA) are seen as a joke, behind the times etc. And that if we had our way, the game, including a lot of money for development of the game, and the World Cup going to South Africa etc would never have developed as it has in their countries.

It appears, from their perspective, that we need to sort our act out and get credible, I for one, happen to agree, The FA are a joke.

So do I tbh. The FA has been a joke for many years.

Tim, had FIFA been based in Australia, it would have been investigated long before now.

IMO, the most corrupt global organisation in the world.

Just checked out the book on Amazon, looks great. Shame it's not out for the kindle as I refuse to pay the crazy high prices for English books here in Thailand.

Double agreed as well as the P/L

FIFA has been also - can't believe people are only just cottoning onto the idea (Jisty hits it on the head in his post)

Whichever way you turn - money is always at the forefront and this is the mainstay to it all and will be until somebody can bring it into control.

As an American...

We had to deal with FIFA through Jack Walker, so of course we always saw the system as corrput. Its hard not to when you get even a apeak at what he was up to. Warner could teach Berlusconi a few things about using the media outlets you own to spin things in support of your other positions.

In terms of 'fixing' FIFA, the problem is that there's so much money int eh game now, that anyone involved is going to have their hand out at some point. Clearly the FA in England and the USSF here in the USA are full of people that'd gladly slag off someone else for their shortcomings while still follow the money trail to personaly wealth. But at this point, I guess less corruption is better than massive corruption.

The one thing that England (and the ?USA but to a lesser extent for this specific sport) have is a rabid media who get their kicks form crushing people when they act sactimonius or hypocritical (unless they are politicians who haven't twittered pictures of their junk to random women, for some reason). So that does act as a measure of control in our respective lands, I guess.
