chris
take out the horrible season at Real and its not too bad a record for a freebie, an improvement for sure and Roberts is nearly 34 years old
roversfan1
Im happy to give the guy a chance - ok so he may not be the multi million pound superstar that we all hoped for but thats not his fault! He has obviously got ability and plenty of experience so lets welcome him to Rovers and give him a chance to prove himself in the blue and white halves
Teacup
An improvement on what we already have upfront?? A lot of the Pavone Apps for Betis were from the bench I believe.
Backroom DE. Posted July 15, 2011 Backroom Share Posted July 15, 2011 I don't have a problem with him coming in as a replacement for Roberts or Benjani... would be disappointed if he was our Kalinic replacement, though.
chris
I don't have a problem with him coming in as a replacement for Roberts or Benjani... would be disappointed if he was our Kalinic replacement, though. He is probably a replacement for new or (soon to be gone) old Diouf. Roberts and Benjari sadly are here to stay. Benjari is only on peanuts and I think roberts will hopefully just be an impact sub. He has been effective when we really needed him but obviously is not a short or long term solution.
True Blue & White
Benjani is a free agent Chris, he doesn't have a contract with Rovers (at the time of this posting).
The Rover of Finland
It´s ok if Pavone and Roberts will fight for a starting place. There just has to be one better ahead of them.
vintageadidas
He has lost his way a little over the last few years but he has talent. There is no better place to rebuild your career than here at Blackburn Rovers. Also, i mean no offence in this at all HUGHESY - but please tell me you are not employed and a student of some sort. Parsonblue
An improvement on what we already have upfront?? Only an improvement if he can adapt to English conditions quicker than Formica.
rog of the rovers
Free transfer minimises any risk. Although (rightly so) people will not read too much into his Youtube video, what it does show is that he can score goals with both feet and his head. Also a nice mix with a couple of nice long range efforts and also a few 'poachers' finishes. If he's been on trial then Rovers should have seen his strengths and weaknesses. One obvious advantage will be his strength (which Kalinic has/had very little of), which should serve him well in the Premier League.
LeChuck
Despite his height he's meant to be very good in the air. I've got a fairly optimistic feeling about this one. Anyone know if he can play out wide as well?
