yoda
As bad as it sounds you can't really blame Kean for signing this contract, everybody on this site would accept a payrise at work even if they were doing a crap job. The blame should be cast to who gives out the contracts either Venkys or Simon Hunt. What is the point in Simon Hunt, he cant even get Hoillet to a new contract and if was any good in his job he would have strongly advised for Keans contract to not go ahead or quit, to me he is another member of rovers staff who is there for the money and not bothered about the club. You are missing the fact that cocco reports directly to the Raos, by passing the board, if I was as bad as cocco at doing my job I would walk, end of Is a pay rise going to make him do the job better? perthblue02
Thinking about this now I've calmed down a bit, but could it not be the case that Kean did in fact sign a new contract and the club i.e Goebells Agnew was waiting for a win to release it, obviously the Chuckle brothers were not happy with what they heard and saw at Wigan and realised they have been duped again, a certain agent has got wind of the chuckle brothers thinking about potting Kean and released the story to his fav media pet to try and discredit the chuckle brothers if they do actually try to sack him after giving him a new contract. Stuart
Awful, awful news. I dread to think what even the pro-Venkys, pro-Kean contingent will think at this point. If there are still some of you out there, just think how you'll feel when it's a match day and the gates of Ewood Park remain chained shut. Permanently. The depths Venkys have gone to with this, as far as I'm concerned, shows that the will not do the right things for this club. My only hope is that all of my melodrama is rammed down my throat when we go on a fantastic winning streak later this season. Either that or I finally wake up from this nightmare. A terrible scenario but after today I believe that the Venkys would rather lose all their investment than appear to give in to the supporters. We are now the enemy and they ours. Unfortunately it's a war we are probably destined to lose.
imy9
Wow. I am an optimistic person by nature and will always give people a chance and whereas other decisions they made could be argued this is a decision which makes NO sense whatsoever. In fact it stinks and I am angry that I was taken in by them.

FourLaneBlue
...is a total V signal to the loyal supporters of Blackburn Rovers as Kean knew he was laughing all the way to the bank. Note there is not even a bonus clause for keeping us up- Venky's are THAT deluded and out of touch. Venky's decision making is getting close to incitement to civil unrest. No wondered they are scared little bunnies staying away from football games for ever and ever.... How are they out of touch, Philip? They just needlessly gave our worst-ever manager a 25 grand a week contract. It is obvious now that they do not care about Rovers at all. Quite the opposite. There is obviously something very shady going on. This is not logical. It does not make sense. Any "fans" still backing these "owners" and this "manager"? TimmyJimmy
I'm sorry guys, I have been a season ticket holder forever and my wife and kids have been holders for thirty years, if this is true then Hell will freeze over before we set foot in Ewood again whilst this lot are in charge. That's it for me, the fat lady has sung.

beastlove
I really don't know what to say. I had supported Kean longer than most but everyone can see that he isn't up to the job. Giving him a new deal is madness unless it had some kind of better termination stipulation. from the reports I have read this is not the case. Wish I knew what they were thinking when they offered him the new deal

Any "fans" still backing these "owners" and this "manager"? FLB I've said on here the only time the entire issue makes any sense is if you take all things relating to football completely out of the equation. Try it and you'll see more clearly. imo It's about making money and no matter the consequences. The only thing that we do know is that the club was undervalued at sale and the sum of the assets and earnings significantly exceeds the cost. Put it this way if you had the chance to but some little known basketball or baseball (or any sport that you had no interest in) club half way around the world on the cheap and had the opportunity to make big money by selling it in bits what would you do? thenodrog
hope kean has bodyguards. someone will run to the dugout and drop him before long. Bloody hell novella! Why can people still not grasp it? Kean is the wrong target for your anger! Given that this is 22 Nov then in the never to be forgotten words of Lee Harvey Oswald he (Kean) "is just a Patsy"

thenodrog
I give up. Venky's have been given enough chances, this is the one that broke the camels back. Why could I not see that these people have no business acumen whatsoever and have no love/understanding about football or Rovers for that matter. Boycotting will make little difference, the only thing to get rid of them will be to be in the Championship next year and I am already braced for that now. You've made a fool of yourself over the Venkeymob so it's harsh but a good lesson learnt for you imy.

RE Kean's new contract, I cant say Im surprised to be honest. Does he deserve a new contract? Mr Maureen
In 2 years time, when the club is dead and buried and the reality of what really is happening has come out,the Premiership will simply issue a statement along the lines,we now have new rules to ensure this never happens again. In the meantime Kean arrogantly goes on his weekly country pub crawls unapprehended..........Is'nt there a Clitheroe Rovers supporters club ?
