[Archived] Steve Kean tactics..

Steve Keans tactics for me go along the lines of try and make the football believeable, as they completely empty the bank vaults of Blackburn Rovers football club before clearing off laying the blame on someone else.

I fear that it is inevitable that the fans will be used as the scapegoat.

For sure that is what will happen. Kean's spin will become more and more anti fans who boo, chant or whatever. He will brainwash the players into believing it too.

He will do anything and say anything to deflect blame for Rovers predicament from himself. He is devoid of shame.

I was always taught, build from the back, keep things tight and have the ability to counter quickly and nick a goal (ala Basle v Man U the other night) Arsenal won the double years ago with many 1 - 0 victories, our 1995 success can be attributed to our tight defence (Newcastle at Ewood being a good example) the balance of the side was good too, Batty holding midfield, Atko was able to get the ball forward very quickly, good deliveries from both flanks and we had Shearer and Sutton to get the goals, then we had a very good defence which kept things tight.

What we have now is a midfield of 'pretty' footballers but no journeymen, all good sides have these underated journeymen, Atko was one, Mike Phelan, Mick Duxbury, Darren Fletcher and the like were all great Pros without being 'pretty' they did a job for the team, we dont seem to have this kind of player anymore, so we give the ball away too much.

Interestingly the other night, Jones in midfield for Man U was brilliant, didnt give the ball away, great decision making and rollocking older players for their mistakes!!

I wouldn't say that's the best example Kelbo - Tim Flowers was beyond superhuman that day behind 10 shaky players and was the scariest match I've ever watched.

You are right though, our defence was much better back then. It was full of passion and effort - no more so than against Everton away :rover: Big Col putting his face in the way of someones boot in the greatest goalmouth scramble of all time! Winners and legends the lot of them :D

Atko as well was awesome that season and was an unsung hero - it still pisses me off that clueless fans used to boo him. Things seemed to go backwards when he was dropped for Batty after his foot healed.

Those were the days!!! :brfc:

This starts with the sacking of Allardyce. Venky's made it clear that their vision was attractive football.

Despite collectively knowing the square root of FA about the game.

Kelbo are you a closet Manc by any chance?

Steve Keans tactics

"Steve Kean tactics"

Those 3 words can never be put together Jal. I'm of the opinion that Kean thinks tactics are small mints.

"their vision"?

Jaysus, do me a favour!

About as much vision as Stevie Wonder stuck in Hampton Court maze at midnight with a potato sack on his head.

Their vision was to get their ugly thick mugs on the telly and their chicken-throttling services advertised. Bit of reflected glory and all that. They obviously thought it would be an absolute doddle and that they could do it for diddly squat. "Due diligence" my hairy butt!

We're in the hands of retarded maniacs.
