Goodwillie and Dunn played well against Everton. why would you replace them? And Pedersen for taht matter.

Agreed. All three are in good form. Don't drop players when they're in form, we can't afford that at the moment.

Robinson

Lowe Dann Givet Olsson

Pedersen Petrovic N'Zonzi Hoilett

Dunn

Goodwillie

That will surely be the team, injuries permitting.

Ben Arfa will probably be on the bench, he doesn't fit the 4-4-2 formation that Pardew likes.

Bit of a weird statement though...how many times has he played against us? He's only played 16 games for Newcastle so it can't be many...

He played the last match. And by "type of player who does well against us", I mean any out of favour/goal drought/bad patch player always seems to come good against us, and Ben Arfa is square centre of that group at the moment!

That's true. Cahill last week, Ben Arfa this...hopefully not.

With the Toon missing Cabaye,Tiote and hopefully Ba and Cisse if we dont at least draw this match we dont deserve to be in the prem!

Although I seem to remember being really confident on the day we played Bolton at home.

I also remember thinking we would get smashed at Old Trafford.

Being a Rovers fan is very confusing!!

Oh a draw could get us out of the bottom 3 today!! A win almost certainly would!

if ba and cisse both start tonight I can see us getting rolled over tonight 3-1 loss. If ba and cisse are not playing then can see us getting a 1-1 draw or a 2-1 win. Think it all dpends if cisse and ba will be fit enough to play or not for us.

Good job it's been stated in several places that they are not available then. ;)

What a load of tosh we beat united with ROONEY arsenal with VAN PERSIE, cisse and ba are decent players but they aint gonna change a 2-1 victory to us to a 3-1 to them. it'll be 3-1 rovers tonight with or without them players

Loving the who can be most pessimistic race to the bottom from some people. I searched for NUFC Forum in google and the top link has a poll with:

Newcastle win 5 (22.7%)

Blackburn win 7 (31.8%)

Draw 10 (45.5%)

Not a great sample size but...

I'm not sure I full understand the "can't score without the Yak" argument either. Without any of his goals we'd be on 21 scored even if his replacement on the pitch didn't get any. Including yesterday's games Wigan are on 20, QPR 22, West Brom 22, Swansea 24, Stoke 23, Everton 23. It's the defence we need to worry about!

Same team as last time please and sod the clean sheet, any flavour of win!

Big game tonight. Newcastle are on a bad run of form, key players are missing and a chance for us to get out of the bottom 3.

A draw's really no use. Even I can work out the maths on how draws are a waste of time. Play 4 games, lose 0 but get 4 draws, 4 points - play 4 games, lose 2 win 2, 6 points. Even if you went through a whole season unbeaten - 38 draws, 38 points - relegation.

Maybe I've misunderstood our Steve all along. That's why he doesn't go for the 0-0 draws

Last 6 PL matches have seen Newcastle take 9 points and us 8, so if they are on a poor run of form then what are we on ?

Key players missing - yep, don't see either Samba or Yak playing tonight and they have no Tiote, Cabaye or Ba.

Lot of confidence about that Rovers will win comfortably, however, I think we'll have to settle for a draw.

Two teams with influential players out, could go either way but I'm never confident these days.

First goal is vital, should they get it the groans will start, if we can then the players and fans tails will be up.

We seem to have a specialty of playing teams in bad form and getting beat by them. Stoke, Sunderland, West Brom and Bolton to name a few. Fancy us to win tonight though. I reckon we needs to win at least 5 home games from now so that had better start tonight.

Andy Cryer is saying Goodwillie out, Modeste in (due to illness it seems). Modeste might have better attributes for the single striker role than Goodwillie does. Will be good opportunity for him tonight and I hope he does the business.

Oh dear untested striker not used to this league, Goodwille has been getting goals and improving not good that he is out.

Think we only have rochina as back up striker but he has never been tried in that posiiton.

Lot of preassure on Modeste now lets hope he can do the business.
